freitasm: Charges: Man lit his camper on fire, defaced own garage to appear targeted due to Trump flag - CBS Minnesota (cbsnews.com)

Again I've never heard of someone with left-leaning doing a false flag operation, in this literally case a false flag.

To my memory, the only times left wingers stage an attack /arson are like Jussie Smollett or someone trying to claim insurance money. No politics involved.

Here's an off-topic article from the BBC called False flags: What are they and when have they been used?

New York Times: Little-Known Lawyer Pitched Trump on Extreme Plans to Subvert Election

...The lawyer, William J. Olson, was promoting several extreme ideas to the president. Mr. Olson later conceded that part of his plan could be regarded as tantamount to declaring “martial law” and that another aspect could invite comparisons with Watergate. The plan included tampering with the Justice Department and firing the acting attorney general, Jeffrey A. Rosen, according to the Dec. 28 memo by Mr. Olson, titled “Preserving Constitutional Order.”

“Our little band of lawyers is working on a memorandum that explains exactly what you can do,” Mr. Olson wrote in his memo, obtained by The New York Times, which he marked “privileged and confidential” and sent to the president. “The media will call this martial law,” he wrote, adding that “that is ‘fake news.’”

The document highlights the previously unreported role of Mr. Olson in advising Mr. Trump as the president was increasingly turning to extreme, far-right figures outside the White House to pursue options that many of his official advisers had told him were impossible or unlawful, in an effort to cling to power.

The involvement of a person like Mr. Olson, who now represents the conspiracy theorist and MyPillow chief executive Mike Lindell, underscores how the system that would normally insulate a president from rogue actors operating outside of official channels had broken down within weeks after the 2020 election.
...
According to his memo, Mr. Olson was discussing with Mr. Trump the notion that the Justice Department would intercede with the Supreme Court to reverse his electoral defeat.

The court had declined to hear a case that allies of Mr. Trump in Texas had brought challenging the election results in Pennsylvania, saying the plaintiffs lacked standing.

Mr. Olson told Mr. Trump that he believed the Justice Department “will do nothing except continue to run out the clock.”

This writer is quite sure Trump is going to run, even though it could majorly screw up the 2022 midterms - but Trump (as usual) really couldn't care less:

What if (big if) Trump can drag all these legal proceedings against him out till the next presidential elections and he gets elected (God forbid) can he then claim Presidential immunity against prosecution ??

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Trump's modus operandi
  1. Commit crime in full public display
  2. admit to committing crime, in the most public way possible
  3. abuse the court system, Justice Department and/or law enforcement.
  4. get someone else to pay the legal bill
  5. fire and/or intimidate anyone without notice
  6. be the victim

I bet he does! https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-tells-team-needs-president-000037345.html A pity that if he wins again several of the probes currently into his "activities" would come to a screeching halt.

Also: https://edition.cnn.com/interactive/2022/07/politics/steve-bannon-us-democracy/ A rather worrying read, as to how much influence racist loudmouth Stephen Bannon is having over the election process at a grassroots level.

But! I take some comfort in the fact that - as I saw somewhere today - when I wake up tomorrow morning, he will have been in court for contempt of Congress 👍

NPR: Pence splits with Trump again in endorsement for Arizona's governor

Former President Donald Trump and former Vice President Mike Pence have thrown their weight behind competing GOP candidates in the Arizona race for governor in a move that further highlights the distance between two factions of the Republican following.

...Last fall, Trump endorsed Kari Lake, a former local TV news anchor. Lake has centered her campaign around the false belief that the 2020 presidential election was stolen — claims not embraced by the state's current Republican Gov. Doug Ducey and other members of the party, including Robson.

...This is not the first time the two former running mates have backed opponents this election cycle. Earlier this year Pence rallied for Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp ahead of the state primary, while Trump backed challenger David Perdue.

The move from Pence to rally for Kemp was seen at the time as the most outward effort to block Trump's influence. Kemp ultimately won the nomination.

Bannon was (apparently) whining after the jury selection about the whole process and why he was even there. Fortunately, the judge isn't having a bar of it.

His defense will be interesting - as in, how the hell could he defend what he did? The whole "executive privilege" thing isn't going to do anything for him - but I think (fingers crossed) he hasn't got a hope in hell.

Oh good.

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/running-president-won-t-save-223812169.html

Also, more whining (and playing the victim - he learned from the master!) after day 1 of his trial: https://www.politico.com/news/2022/07/19/brief-delay-bannon-trial-evidence-00046539

As Bannon left the courthouse following the trial’s first testimony, he unleashed a fusillade of verbal attacks on the House committee and bemoaned the unfairness of his trial. Such bombast from defendants in the middle of a jury trial is highly unusual and could provoke a backlash from the judge overseeing the case.

“It is outrageous,” Bannon shouted, denouncing a series of figures involved with the House panel, including its chairman, Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.).

“Bennie Thompson is a total, absolute disgrace, and this show trial that they’re running is a disgrace,” Bannon said. He lambasted the committee members for lacking the “guts and courage” to testify at the trial and instead sending staffers like Amerling. “They should be here, the senior people on the committee,” Bannon declared.

Bannon also used the bank of TV cameras to take some shots at his political opponents, like President Joe Biden, and to keep pushing the unfounded election fraud claims that fueled the Jan. 6 violence.

“We have a constitutional crisis in this nation right now,” Bannon said. “Trump won. Joe Biden’s illegitimate.”

Seriously, he needs to just shut the hell up, right now. None of this shooting your mouth off (or is it spouting?) during a court case of your creating is going to help you.

Politics is the answer for everything Steve Bannon doesn't want to do, because of his God among men attitude.

Don't want to clean the bathroom/toilet? politics.

Don't want to completely stop at stop signs? politics

Want to bring your AR15 somewhere, but were stopped at the metal detector? politics

In trouble with the IRS because you hid income offshore? politics

It's the answer to everything conservatives don't want to do today
