The FBI said it was someone close, so that rules out Melania.

LOL!

With Trump's reputation for frequently cheating someone of something owed, I'm guessing it's "cash up front. pre-pay. no credit"

Vanity Fair: Trump hires #BillionDollarLawyer to represent him in Georgia election interference probe

Former President Donald Trump hired a lawyer—best known for representing rappers—to represent him in the 2020 election interference criminal inquiry in Georgia.

Last week Trump hired Drew Findling, an Atlanta-based lawyer who is known online as #BillionDollarLawyer and for representing a star-studded list of clients, including artists Cardi B, Migos, Waka Flocka Flame, and Gucci Mane.

The investigation is looking into potential 2020 election interference. Although Trump has not been named as a target of the Georgia probe, the Fulton County prosecutors have issued subpoenas to members of the former president's inner circle—Senator Lindsey Graham and former Trump lawyers John Eastman and Rudy Giuliani are among them. Additionally, the slate of 16 alternate electors in Georgia could face charges.

On top of his background in criminal defense work, Findling's reputation runs deep in the rap community. “He’s the biggest lawyer in the game, man,” said Offset, a member of the group Migos and Cardi B's husband. As Findling told the New York Times, he remembered rapper 2 Chainz pointing at him and telling his wife: “See that guy right there? Honey, we don’t ever want to be in his office.”

In another strange twist to this hiring, Findling has been an outspoken critic of Trump. ...

...He explained his choice to represent Trump in a recent interview with the New York Times: “I do not believe that we choose our client or clients based on race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, political belief or the substantive issues involved in the crime…We have our personal lives and we have our personal politics, and I don’t apologize for my personal politics.”

The lawyer still has a rapper for a client, except this one spouts lunatic crap without music.

OMG - Trump's lawyer looks like a snake-oil salesman - how very appropriate.  🙂

They deserve each other.

Exactly what you'd expect of Trump, he hires Mr.Bling to argue his case instead of Mr.Law Expert.

I keep hoping that the next email for a message in this thread will be the one where:

Shows him in an orange jumpsuit for real.

Complete with shiny wrist "bracelets".

After being found guilty and....

Sentenced to real time away!

Sadly, that email / message is yet to arrive!

TINO: "Trump in name only"

should be "trustworthy in name only"

and definitely not "tiresome in name only"

I can't wait for this, even if Lindsay Graham pleads the fifth

Politico: Judge orders Graham to testify in Atlanta-area Trump probe

A federal judge on Monday turned down Senator Lindsey Graham’s bid to throw out a subpoena compelling him to testify before the Atlanta-area grand jury investigating Donald Trump’s effort to overturn the 2020 election.

“[T]he Court finds that the District Attorney has shown extraordinary circumstances and a special need for Senator Graham’s testimony on issues relating to alleged attempts to influence or disrupt the lawful administration of Georgia’s 2022 elections,” U.S. District Court Judge Leigh Martin May wrote in a 22-page opinion rejecting Graham’s effort and sending the matter back to state courts for further proceedings.

The ruling is a victory for District Attorney Fani Willis, who is leading the grand jury probe that resulted in a subpoena for Graham (R-S.C.) to appear for an Aug. 23 interview. Investigators intend to query Graham about two phone calls with Georgia election officials, at the same time Trump was attempting to subvert his defeat, that included a discussion of the process for counting absentee ballots.

“Senator Graham has unique personal knowledge about the substance and circumstances of the phone calls with Georgia election officials, as well as the logistics of setting them up and his actions afterward,” May wrote. “And though other Georgia election officials were allegedly present on these calls and have made public statements about the substance of those conversations, Senator Graham has largely (and indeed publicly) disputed their characterizations of the nature of the calls and what was said and implied. Accordingly, Senator Graham’s potential testimony on these issues … are unique to Senator Graham.”

Graham indicated he would appeal the ruling.
