I looked up "the Truth" demographics, and it was white man as you'd expect. But many were younger, and college-educated.

It may be skewed because less than half of seniors use iPhone, who could download the app. less than a third, use an Android smart phone and couldn't get it through the app store (could side-load it but unlikely).

I think its users are skewed to younger and college-educated, because this would be the target for any smart-phone app. Also I think it's further skewed by "ironic users": trolls and journalists.

Google hasn't yet approved Truth Social's Android app for distribution via its Play Store because of insufficient content moderation, a Google spokesperson tells Axios.

Driving the news: Truth Social CEO Devin Nunes last week claimed the decision about when the app would be available on Android "is up to Google," but Google insists that the ball is in Truth Social's court.

...Truth Social does have "sensitive content" banners that appear before some posts that read "This content may not be suitable for all audiences," but content that threatens violence remains on the platform.

For example, in response to a post from former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn, an account called "TheVictim24" posted last week:

"It's be nice if you people weren't just okay with the military and police stage a rebellion and framing civilians.

Zero people trust the police and if the military comes in, we'll kill them.

Someone admit this nation needs to be nuked because it's satanic."

That's not an opinion piece, it's someone paraphrasing the Washington Post using more weasel words per square centimeter than I've seen for a long time: claimed, alleged, writing as though, insisted, began with the premise, etc. It sounds like someone who wants to have an opinion of their own but is so scared of any possible repercussions that they've written it in such a way that it can be walked back at the drop of an AR15 safety catch.

Former attorney general William Barr came to the defense of the FBI and the justice department’s (DoJ) judicial request to search Donald Trump’s Florida home and country club compound last month, saying Friday that documents seized in the search appeared to support the department’s claims of a national security risk.

“As more information comes out, the actions of the department look more understandable,” Barr told the New York Times in an interview.

“It seems to me they were driven by concern about highly sensitive information being strewn all over a country club, and it was taking them almost two years to get it back,” he said.

The former attorney general, who resigned in December 2020 as Trump ramped up his claims that the election has been rigged, also dismissed Trump’s call for an independent review of materials confiscated from Mar-a-Lago by a “special master”.

“I think it’s a crock of shit,” Barr said. “I don’t think a special master is called for.”
