The Atlantic: Biden Laid the Trap. Trump Walked Into It.

...Trump campaigning in Pennsylvania, the ex-president denounced the state’s largest city. “I think Philadelphia was a great choice to make this speech of hatred and anger. [Biden’s] speech was hatred and anger,” Trump declared last night. “Last year, the city set an all-time murder record with 560 homicides, and it’s on track to shatter that record again in 2022. Numbers that nobody’s ever seen other than in some other Democrat-run cities.”

Trump spoke at length about the FBI search of his house for stolen government documents. He lashed out at the FBI, attacking the bureau and the Department of Justice as “vicious monsters.” He complained about the FBI searching his closets for stolen government documents, inadvertently reminding everyone that the FBI had actually found stolen government documents in his closet—and in his bathroom too. Trump called Biden an “enemy of the state.” He abused his party’s leader in the U.S. Senate as someone who “should be ashamed.” He claimed to have won the popular vote in the state of Pennsylvania, which, in fact, he lost by more than 80,000 votes.

The rally format allowed time for only brief remarks by the two candidates actually on the ballot, Oz and Mastriano. Its message was otherwise all Trump, Trump, Trump. A Republican vote is a Trump vote. A Republican vote is a vote to endorse lies about the 2020 presidential election.

More bad news for Trump's "Truth" social media. Trump's company may not receive the $1.3 billion in cash it thought it would receive after the merger and will likely have to look for new investors.

The merger has been delayed due to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) review of the disclosures that investors had been given about the deal, an investigation by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, as well as by federal prosecutors.

You'll also remember Trump's "The Truth" trademark was rejected because name isn't unique.

Reuters: Deal partner for Trump's Truth Social fails to get backing for SPAC extension -sources

The blank-check acquisition firm that agreed to merge with Donald Trump's social media company failed to secure enough shareholder support for a one-year extension to complete the deal, people familiar with the matter said on Monday.

At stake is a $1.3 billion cash infusion that Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), which operates the former U.S. president's Truth Social app, stands to receive from Digital World Acquisition Corp (DWAC.O), the special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) that inked a deal last October to take the company public.

Trump is a cancer on America. He is a career criminal who manipulates and games the system. He is like a boil that will only grow more painful until it is lanced. He needs to be immediately jailed for any of the numerous crimes that can already be proven. The longer he is permitted to whine about his grievances, the worse he will become. It is time to bring an end to this. Screw fairness. He has had several lifetimes worth of chances. It is way past time to move on. Lock him up, shut him up, and be done with it.

What I don't understand is why anyone would ever give stuff like that to a toddler, they're just going to lose them or draw on them in crayon or feed them to the cat.

I bet she doesn't!

How badly, if any, can she be censored by this very obvious "thank you Donald for the appointment arse licking judgement in his favour" which has been critiqued to be a VERY loose legal judgement by people far better versed in all aspects of the law covering this area/s, than she is coming across as, let alone her behaviour following her judgement?

Of course all she really has done, either knowingly or not, has helped DJT in his ever (historically) delaying tactics.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

The Guardian - Nuclear secrets reportedly found at Mar-a-Lago are ‘gamechanger’, experts say

both 08 September 2022

Mar-a-Lago ... is a magnet for foreign spies, former intelligence officials have warned. ...

The home of a former president with a history of being enthralled by foreign autocrats, distrustful of US security services, and boastful about his knowledge of secrets, is an obvious foreign intelligence target.

I know that national security professionals inside government, my former colleagues, are shaking their heads at what damage might have been done.”

I’m sure Mar-a-Lago was being targeted by Russian intelligence and other intelligence services over the course of the last 18 or 20 months, and if they were able to get individuals into that facility, and access those rooms where those documents were and made copies of those documents, that’s what they would do.”

Financial Times: Trump’s Truth Social is the saddest site on the internet

...things aren’t going so well for the platform. This week it emerged that the blank-cheque company — or Spac — that was meant to merge with and give a $1.3bn cash injection to the Trump Media & Technology Group, which runs Truth Social, has failed to get the financial backing for an extension to complete the deal. Meanwhile, the platform has been barred from Google Play because of its failure to moderate violent content, and the US Patent and Trademark Office has denied Trump his application for a trademarking of “Truth Social”.

It has also been reported that the platform owes $1.6mn to RightForge, the company that hosts the website. Truth Social declined to confirm or deny this report, instead telling me that “Truth Social is on strong financial footing” and that “any assertion to the contrary is knowingly false bar-talk maliciously designed to harm Truth Social investors”.

Still, in between “Truths” about the “Green New Deal Fake Infrastructure Bill” and “the latest Witch Hunt against me”, Trump took to the platform this week to try to encourage people to buy ads on it. These feel like sad, desperate times — for Trump and the platform.

Spending time on the site is an unpleasant experience. It seems to be a total rip-off of Twitter, but with a much lower budget and without some basic functionalities. When you click on a “Truth”, for instance, you are unable to see whether or not you have already liked or “ReTruthed” it yourself, or whether anyone has “Quote-Truthed” it. There is also no direct-messaging capability on the app.

And while it sells itself as a “Big Tent” platform that is all about allowing for different viewpoints, there seems to be only one heard on the platform. The same hashtags trend frequently — #DefundTheFBI, #January6th, #IAMMAGA. It might be 2022, just two months before midterm elections that Republicans look likely to win, but you wouldn’t know it over on Truth Social.

I've never been on the site myself, but can imagine it's just an echo chamber for far-right followers and their bs.

How many people are on it/use it regularly? I doubt Trump has anywhere near the 80-odd million Twitter followers he had in his heyday on that platform. Pretty pathetic he's asking people to buy advertising on it - makes me wonder why some Republicans don't just prop up the site for him. Christ alone knows he barely needs to ask for money and they're lining up with their wallets open, ready to "donate" to whatever his grievance this week is.

Truth Social business plan
  1. steal free and open-source software, without giving credit.

  2. have a guaranteed user base of thousands, perhaps millions

  3. use other people's money to fund

  4. promise no censorship

Most likely outcome
  1. Snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, and bankrupt company

  2. move onto next business

  3. use other people's money to fund
Rinse and repeat.

"Only two things are certain: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." - Albert Einstein.
