No irony intended: Trump writes “MAGA doesn’t Vote for stupid people with big mouths.”

The Hill: Trump attack leaves GOP wondering if he cares about Senate majority

Former President Trump’s Monday assault against Joe O’Dea, the GOP’s Senate nominee in Colorado, is angering Republicans while leaving them wondering if he cares about the party winning back the majority in the upper chamber.

...Republicans worry any chance O’Dea has of pulling off an upset are being extinguished by Trump, prompting frustration and exasperation with the ex-president.

“It certainly is not [helpful],” Senator Kevin Cramer (Republican-N.D.), a Trump ally, told The Hill. “I would hate to see O’Dea lose to Sen. Bennet by a few votes just because Donald Trump urged Republicans not to vote and we came up short of the majority by one senator. ... If Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell opposed every Republican nominee who criticized him publicly, we wouldn’t stand a chance,

...In a post on his social media site, Trump labeled O’Dea a “RINO,” or “Republican in name only,” and said that “MAGA doesn’t Vote for stupid people with big mouths.”

The barb came in response to O’Dea saying that he would not support the former president if he ran again in 2024 and that he would actively campaign against him.

^ the tie isn't right in that image, it's far too short (and not red). The rest of it is quite accurate though 😃

The Washington Post - Trump signed legal documents that he knew included false voter fraud numbers, judge says

19 October

Former president Donald Trump and his political allies understood that their allegations of widespread voter fraud in Georgia were baseless but continued to push the unfounded claims in courts and the public, according to recent federal court filings. ...

U.S. District Court Judge David O. Carter found that several documents between Trump’s allies must be made public, as they showed that the group participated in a “knowing misrepresentation of voter fraud numbers in Georgia when seeking to overturn the election results in federal court.”

The emails show that President Trump knew that the specific numbers of voter fraud were wrong but continued to tout those numbers, both in court and to the public,” Carter wrote.

The Court finds that these emails are sufficiently related to and in furtherance of a conspiracy to defraud the United States.”

While my innocent people give some variation of "I didn't rape her" Trump responses begs the question: what is his type of woman he'd rape?

New York Times: What to Know About Trump’s Deposition in E. Jean Carroll’s Suit

Ms. Carroll, in a 2019 book and excerpt in New York magazine, accused Mr. Trump of raping her in the mid-1990s at the department store Bergdorf Goodman. She said that he pushed her against a dressing room wall, pulled down her tights, opened his pants and forced himself upon her.

Mr. Trump said that he had never met Ms. Carroll, that she was “totally lying” and that she was not his “type.”

In her suit, Ms. Carroll, a longtime advice columnist for Elle magazine, said Mr. Trump’s statements had harmed her reputation.
...
After Judge Kaplan denied Mr. Trump’s request to delay, Mr. Trump blasted Ms. Carroll in a lengthy social media post, repeating the kind of statements that had prompted her to sue in the first place.

“This ‘Ms. Bergdorf Goodman’ case is a complete con job,” Mr. Trump said in his statement. He said that Ms. Carroll was not telling the truth, that he did not know her — and that she was not his type: “While I am not supposed to say it, I will.”
...
After Ms. Carroll sued in state court in Manhattan in 2019, the Justice Department, then led by Attorney General William P. Barr, abruptly intervened on Mr. Trump’s behalf citing a law intended to protect federal employees from litigation stemming from their official duties.
...
In 2020, a Judge rejected the department’s attempt to intervene in the case, saying Mr. Trump was not performing official duties when he made his statements about Ms. Carroll.

“His comments concerned an alleged sexual assault that took place several decades before he took office,” Judge Kaplan wrote, “and the allegations have no relationship to the official business of the United States.”

BBC News - Trump questioned under oath over rape accuser's defamation case

today

Former US President Donald Trump has answered questions under oath in a lawsuit brought against him by an advice columnist who says he raped her.

Trumps' defense, as previously stated: "Number one, she’s not my type. Number two, it never happened. It never happened, OK?”  [June 2019]

Well, it's obvious she's not his type.

1) She can think and speak for herself
2) She's not an inflatable sex-toy
3) She's not a porn actress

Summary: Trump is a cancer on society.

The Hill: Six ways Trump has changed the GOP
  1. He’s turned Republicans more against mainstream media
  2. He’s made attacking opponents a signature
  3. He’s sparked opposition to institutions
  4. He’s fueled skepticism in the country’s elections
  5. He’s made fealty to him a necessity for party survival
  6. He altered the GOP’s view of the world

Good, looks like the walls are finally starting to close in on Trump's cronies, although I think 4 months isn't particularly long. If he makes it to jail he's going to have a very difficult time in there.

Also: https://edition.cnn.com/2022/10/21/politics/january-6-committee-subpoena-donald-trump/index.html << I think Trump will fight that to hell and back. Either that or he'll just plead the Fifth Amendment to everything, like the coward he is.

Wet. Bus. Ticket.  😕

From the above Stuff article:

The judge allowed Bannon to stay free pending appeal and also imposed a fine of US$6500 (about NZ$11,400) as part of the sentence. ...

As he walked into court on Friday, Bannon told reporters, “This illegitimate regime, their judgment day is on 8 November when the Biden administration ends.”

It doubt that Bannon will ever serve his sentence - but I hope that I'm wrong.

8 November? That's the midterms, not the general election. He seems awfully optimistic about something that simply won't happen.

Yet many think the GOP will re-take the House in November.

Yet another IQ / Intellectual Integrity test the US is at serious risk of failing.

Though this isn't limited to the US. The BS from the Right in NZ / Canada / Australia is essentially Trump-ian..... (originally from Putin) and it seems to be very effective among low-information voters. That's a huge proportion of them.

538 says Republicans will probably take the House but the Democrats will keep the Senate:

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2022-election-forecast/senate/?cid=rrpromo

Personally I'd like to see them hang onto both to get stuff done, but it's not up to me.
