you knew it wouldnt go well for him when you found out that he said he should be cleared because  that it didn’t matter what he put on his financial statements they have a disclaimer that says they shouldn’t be trusted.

The NY Times - Judge Finds Trump Inflated Property Values, a Victory for New York A.G.

The New York attorney general won a major victory in her civil case against Donald J. Trump on Tuesday when a New York judge determined that the former president fraudulently inflated the value of his assets to obtain favorable loans and insurance deals.

 

The decision by Justice Arthur F. Engoron precedes a trial that is scheduled to begin Monday, and will considerably smooth Attorney General Letitia James’s path forward as she seeks a penalty of about $250 million.

 

Justice Engoron’s decision narrows the issues that will be heard, effectively deciding that the trial was not necessary to find that Mr. Trump was liable and that the core of Ms. James’s case was valid.

 

It represents a major blow to Mr. Trump, whose lawyers had sought to persuade the judge to throw out many of the claims against the former president.

 

 

The decision will simplify the path for Attorney General Letitia James, who has accused former President Donald J. Trump of overvaluing his holdings by as much as $2.2 billion.

I seriously wonder how much longer Trump will be able to get any lawyer to represent him. Not because he doesn't pay, but because practically every single case he defends, he loses. What lawyer wants 'loser' stamped on his portfolio? Maybe a few alcoholic ambulance chasers, but certainly no law firm with a reputation to protect will want to keep accumulating these failures on its client record. Trump may end up having to resort to public defenders assigned by the courts.

Donald Trump admired a pistol with his face printed on the grip as he went gun shopping during a campaign stop in South Carolina on Monday.

 

Before a rally in the battleground state, Trump toured a local gun store where he was presented with the special edition Glock emblazoned with his face and “Trump 45” printed on the barrel.

 

“I’m going to buy one. I want to buy one,” the former president said eagerly as he posed for photos with the weapon in an exchange posted on social media by his campaign team.  [ link ]

 

Ever sensitive to his popularity, Trump asked staff at the Palmetto State Armoury if the 9mm “Trump Edition” pistol sold well.

 

When assured that the $830 weapon was one of the store’s bestsellers, he said, with satisfaction: “They like me.”

Federal law prohibits anyone under indictment from attempting to buy a firearm.
