I don't like either of them or Obama but then again I hold a possession of being very anti war.

Last year America dropped 26,171 bombs on foreign countries that's deplorable I hope trump keeps a more anti interventionist policy.

LMFAO! You seriously think ANY of them really control who drops bombs and where???

And Trump could somehow make it less? By policy???

That's funny.

He has no "policy" for more than a day, and then it's the opposite.

When did I say no "policy"?

?? Re-read what I wrote.

I said he has no "policy" for more than a day

You said.. see the bit in bold where I quoted you.

Look black and white ignoring semantics I really don't think Trump will be the horror that everyone here is predicting I also do not believe that Hillary was a better choice or the lesser of 2 evils.

I am sure we can have a chat at the end of his presidency in 4 years time to see the doom and gloom here will actually amount to anything.

You're bloody dreaming if you think Trump's going to be "anti-interventionist".

Let's leave Trump good or bad out for now.

Ten days to go... I think we will find out the directions of his administration in the first three months.

The guy is so deranged and prone to off-the-cuff outbursts that it's truly hard to know. What one can be sure of, given his open contempt for reading and any kind of critical analysis of complex issues, is that he is unlikely to make very good, evidence-based decisions.

My hope is that what we see is NOT what we get....in other words he wont act out his tweets, or should I say wont be allowed to act out his tweets.

The Republican Party is a huge machine and the first sign of trouble after inauguration the squeeze will be applied. The party wont stand for more Streep like tweets after he is top dog.

Hillary would have been worse than Obama judging by her positions she set out on her campaign trail.

I don't like trump because of his views on climate change and health care he has a very backward approach on both.

Are you real??

America is openly at war against terrorism, my grizzle is that they havnt dropped enough!!

Would you prefer the west sat back and watched ISIS move into the West?

Maybe if you make statements like that you should also include the numbers of bombs dropped by France, Syria, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Australia, England plus others who are all dropping bombs on foreign countries.

I also have a major beef with the way Obama sat back and watched Syria which let Russia go in and kill innocents.

The world is a very unstable place, always has been and probably always will be.

and

the reason I dont like Trump is because I dont trust him.

America created the terrorists and sells weapons to them (indirectly) ...

Anyway, I'm surprised Trump hasn't tweeted against Geekzone

Threatening private business that they'll be punished by 35% tariffs if they don't do what Trump wants, building a wall, threatening punitive action against China.

Oh - and military.  Trump says he's going to be "non-interventionist" but hey, he'd going to "build up our military not as an act of aggression, but as an act of prevention," he said. "In short, we seek peace through strength.".

Whaaat???

As I mentioned above in the thread, the US spends more on the military than the combined military expenditure of the 10 next largest military nations.

And he thinks they need to spend more???

What on earth for????

Just what the world needs... A family of rich, powerful, stupid people. With political power.

I'm amazed the president elect can put people with no skill at all (like his son-in-law) into top political jobs. Anywhere else that would be a dictator move.

Except Americans freely and willingly voted him in knowing everything they had seen up to and including the pre-election night tweets.

They are obviously less worried than some of the hand wringing types here :)

They have managed to survive with worse than Trump, I mean 8 years of Bush for crying out loud!

Things have moved on but anyway back on the password controversy earlier.

Check primary sources. Both+ etc of you ; ).

Podesta's password was set close enough to that in 2015. Was Assange speaking in the right context? I don't know didn't look. Someone else can find a source for that and find redemption at the same time.

This was a computer logon password for windows 8:

https://wikileaks.org/podesta-emails/emailid/22335

Let the sensible discussion of that begin on the possibilities there.

We are supposed to be nerds here after all...

Not sure where the assumption comes from that "the Americans are less worried than the hand-wringing types here"?

Media and social media and comments from friends of mine in the USA indicate to me that very many Americans are very worried (and deeply mortified).

Some people in NZ like and admire Trump.  We'll see how they feel about that in 12 months time.
