But of course, if he loses, they can't go after him 🙄 nice double standard the moron has there.
gzt: This issue arose when a crazy person entered an IVF clinic and smashed frozen embryos. Patients sued the clinic for negligence because who wants to go through all that again. An Alabama court made a decision frozen embryo used in IVF is after conception and is therefore a child etc and therefore all laws xyz apply to care of children. This caused a number of IVF clinics to halt operations because that's a whole new ball game:

Ah, and that seems to explain why they're anti-IVF:
"They use the word 'frozen' embryo and it makes it sound kind of dehumanising honestly, but the reality is these are little babies, just a few weeks old," she said. "And yes they’re frozen, which is one of the reasons IVF is so morally fraught because you’re literally freezing a new human life.”
And the justification for this approach is:
"Human life cannot be wrongfully destroyed without incurring the wrath of a holy God, who views the destruction of His image as an affront to Himself. Even before birth, all human beings bear the image of God, and their lives cannot be destroyed without effacing his glory."
Scary to think that the Taliban have more liberal views on abortion than many US states.
Alabama Judge: "Human life cannot be wrongfully destroyed without incurring the wrath of a holy God, who views the destruction of His image as an affront to Himself.
Interesting how that meeting between Trump and the Republicans was held behind closed doors today. I can imagine if the press had been invited to cover it in an open manner - you know, back when things were a bit more normal in American politics. I can also imagine after the orange buffoon and Mitch McConnell had hugged each other or shook hands or whatever it was and they opened the floor for questions, someone asking the latter what he now thought about Trump, especially after stating that he bore some responsibility for January 6, 2021?
Then again, maybe the past-her-use-by-date ol' windbag Virginia Fox would probably just yell at the media and tell them to "shut up", because that's just civilised for a politician, dodging hard questions like that 🙄
I wonder if this was the real reason this meeting was all done behind doors, so they could just sit there uninterrupted and listen to the orange buffoon ramble on for ages about crap (including things of importance to no one outside his head, like boats? sharks? electrocution?), and just conveniently ignore all the bad things he did when he was president? 🤔

Fox News - House GOP moves to name US coastal waters after Trump
13 June 2024
A House GOP lawmaker is spearheading an effort to name the United States’ coastal waterways after former President Trump.
Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla., is introducing a bill on Friday * to rename the immediate waters surrounding the U.S., called the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), as the "Donald John Trump Exclusive Economic Zone of the United States."
If passed, it would mandate the name change on any applicable laws, maps, documents and other records.
* The Friday bill introduction lines up with the former president’s 78th birthday. 😜
I had to check the calendar. I thought it might April 1st again.

Makes me depressed to see how Trump and McConnell are suddenly BFF's again after the former almost tried to get the latter killed 🙄
I struggle to understand the GOPs hate of LGBTQ+ people when they are all so keen to line up to suck Donalds Duck...

From the movie “The Apprentice,” starring Jeremy Strong as Roy Cohn and Sebastian Stan as Donald Trump.
The NY Times - Opinion - The Chilling Reason You May Never See the New Trump Movie
June 14, 2024
This week I finally got to see “The Apprentice,” an absorbing, disturbing movie about the relationship between the red-baiting mob lawyer Roy Cohn and a young Donald Trump. The film, which was received with an extended standing ovation and mostly appreciative reviews when it premiered at Cannes last month, is a classic story of a mentor and his protégé, chronicling how Trump first learned from and later surpassed his brutal, Machiavellian fixer.
Its performances are extraordinary. The “Succession” star Jeremy Strong captures both Cohn’s reptilian menace and, eventually, his pathos, as he’s wasted by AIDS but, closeted to the end, refuses to admit it. Just as impressive is Sebastian Stan, who makes Trump legible as a human being rather than the grotesque hyperobject we all know today. ...
Unfortunately, you may not get a chance to anytime soon, at least in the United States. ... film makers have yet to secure a deal to release it here, either in theaters or on streaming services.
[This] suggests that Trump and his supporters have already intimidated some media companies, which seem to be pre-emptively capitulating to him.

This commentary is rather scathing (and highly amusing) - Trump, now a convicted felon, returning to the scene of a different crime. And yet Republicans still line up to kiss his ring. Pathetic.

Someone should propose changing the name of the USA to the Trump Excluded Zone.
kingdragonfly: Axios: "Haul out the Guillotine," Trump says in fundraising email
Former President Trump in a fundraising email on Wednesday wrote, "Haul out the Guillotine!," as he baselessly accused his political opponents of going after him and his supporters.
The latest: He later sent out another email with the false claim that "they" wanted to sentence him to death.
Why it matters: It's the latest example of the presumptive GOP presidential candidate's calls for violence and retaliation against his political enemies following his historic conviction on 34 felony counts.
Trump last week said during an interview with Fox News on Wednesday that he'd have "every right to go after" his political opponents if he's elected in November.
...
Damn! He must have seen the email I sent to Joe.

Associated Press - Trump Challenges Biden to a Cognitive Test but Confuses the Name of the Doctor Who Tested Him
15 June 2024
WASHINGTON (AP) - Donald Trump on Saturday night suggested President Joe Biden “should have to take a cognitive test," only to confuse who administered the test to him in the next sentence.
Trump referred to Texas Republican Rep. Ronny Jackson, who was the White House physician for part of his presidency, as "Ronny Johnson.”
The moment came as Trump was questioning Biden's mental acuity, something he often does on the campaign trail and social media.
“Doc Ronny Johnson. Does everyone know Ronny Johnson, congressman from Texas? He was the White House doctor, and he said I was the healthiest president, he feels, in history, so I liked him very much indeed immediately."
“Person. Woman. Man. Camera. TV.” = stable genius 😜
