Timothy Melon, Kotches, Peter Thiels etc.

This is trickle down economics in action.
The large untaxed wealth can then trickle down to those who will protect that large untaxed wealth.

Not much use it trickling down to serfs.

There is a possible tax deductibility bonus angle, as well as gaining favor of the King/Dictator.

From the Nation that had lore about breaking the generational power of Kings and Aristocracy, only to...

The NY Times - Timothy Mellon, Secretive Donor, Gives $50 Million to Pro-Trump Group

20 June 2024

Timothy Mellon, a reclusive heir to a Gilded Age fortune, donated $50 million to a super PAC supporting Donald J. Trump the day after the former president was convicted of 34 felonies, according to new federal filings ...

The donation’s impact on the 2024 race is expected to be felt almost immediately.

Within days of the contribution, the pro-Trump super PAC, Make America Great Again Inc., said in a memo that it would begin reserving $100 million in advertising through Labor Day. ...

Mr. Mellon, who had previously put $25 million into the group over the last 12 months, now accounts for nearly half of what the group has raised in total. ...

... and what does Mr Mellon expect in return?  😁

I suppose that money will end up getting funnelled into Trump's legal fund.

"Washington Times" is not to be confused with the "Washington Post".

The "Washington Times" leans right, which makes this story even funnier.

definition "RINO": Republican In Name Only

Washington Times: Trump tells Fox Corp. to ‘get that dog’ Paul Ryan off board

Former President Donald Trump called on Fox Corp. to remove former House Speaker Paul Ryan from its board of directors.

“Nobody can ever trust Fox News, and I am one of them, with the weak and ineffective RINO, Paul Ryan, on its Board of Directors,” he said in a Truth Social post Wednesday. “He’s a total lightweight, a failed and pathetic Speaker of the House, and a very disloyal person.”
...
The former president called on Rupert Murdoch, former chairman of Fox Corp., and his son, CEO Lachlan Murdoch, to “get that dog off” the board, referring to Mr. Ryan.

“You don’t need him. ALL YOU NEED IS TRUMP. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” his post said.

Mr. Ryan bashed Mr. Trump on air last week in an interview with Fox News’ Neil Cavuto, saying, “I do think character is a really important issue. If you put yourself above the Constitution, as he has done, I think that makes you unfit for office.”

New York Times: Judge in Trump Documents Case Rejected Suggestions to Step Aside

Shortly after Judge Aileen M. Cannon drew the assignment in June 2023 to oversee former President Donald J. Trump’s classified documents case, two more experienced colleagues on the federal bench in Florida urged her to pass it up and hand it off to another jurist, according to two people briefed on the conversations.

The judges who approached Judge Cannon — including the chief judge in the Southern District of Florida, Cecilia M. Altonaga — each asked her to consider whether it would be better if she were to decline the high-profile case, allowing it to go to another judge, the two people said.

But Judge Cannon, who was appointed by Mr. Trump, wanted to keep the case and refused the judges’ entreaties. Her assignment drew attention because she has scant trial experience and had previously shown unusual favor to Mr. Trump by intervening in a way that helped him in the criminal investigation that led to his indictment, only to be reversed in a sharply critical rebuke by a conservative appeals court panel.

The extraordinary and previously undisclosed effort by Judge Cannon’s colleagues to persuade her to step aside adds another dimension to the increasing criticism of how she has gone on to handle the case.
...
She has broken with a general practice of federal judges in the Southern District of Florida of delegating some pretrial motions to an older and much more experienced jurist.
...
Since then, Judge Cannon has exhibited hostility to prosecutors, handled pretrial motions slowly and indefinitely postponed the trial, declining to set a date for it to begin even though both the prosecution and the defense had told her they could be ready to start this summer.

Some history around America's "money is free speech" laws, from a left leaning think-tank.

It could be just as well titled "the last nail in the coffin of democracy in the US"

Brennan Center For Justice: Citizens United Explained

In 2010 the Supreme Court’s ruled in "Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission", a controversial decision that reversed century-old campaign finance restrictions and enabled corporations and other outside groups to spend unlimited funds on elections.

While wealthy donors, corporations, and special interest groups have long had an outsized influence in elections, that sway has dramatically expanded since the Citizens United decision, with negative repercussions for American democracy and the fight against political corruption.

Donald Trump gave the Ten Commandments a slogan - "BRING BACK TTC!!!" - in an overnight post celebrating a Louisiana law that requires poster-sized displays of the Commandments in public school classrooms.

Trump has broken most of them - his hypocrisy is breathtaking.   😡

Trump is shameless but he is also a certifiable moron. He genuinely has no idea how transparently obvious his pathetic attempts to identify himself with religious zealots and other potential supporters is.

Unfortunately, neither do they.

Poe's law: Without a clear indicator of the author's intent, any parodic or sarcastic expression of extreme views can be mistaken by some readers for a sincere expression of those views.

Christians have a bad habit of cherry-picking the Old Testament, and the Ten Commandments. But eschewing many uncomfortable but basic questions, such as the God of Mercy or the God of Wrath?

For example in the Old Testament, a lot of very specific rules about owing a slaves.

Also a LOT of death penalty punishments for what most would consider minor offenses, such as saying "my father is a son-of-a-bitch", or just being a disobedient teenagers.

Rape is OK if you pay her father, and marry her.

What we today call "war crimes" is not only OK but justified: Israelites destroy Jericho, killing “men, women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys, or God commanded the Israelites to kill all the Midianites except the virgins, whom they will take as spoils of war.

Any many, more examples in the Bible of what most people alive now would consider bad, even in the New Testament. See Old Testament, Deuteronomy, Samuel, Leviticus, Joshua, Numbers, Genesis, carry over into the New Testament, Colossians, Ephesians, Peter.

Atheists can commit actions that sinful, even without referencing the Judaism, or the ten commandments. Morality and ethics are multifaceted and extend beyond religious boundaries.

Trump is live in Las Vegas pretending to be pro union and saying 100% of new jobs under Biden went to illegal immigrants.

Undoubtedly Trump is wrong and definitely evil.

Trump reading his Snake poem like a nursery rhyme after that:

Trump:

On her way to work one morning,

Down the path alongside the lake,

A tender-hearted woman saw a poor half-frozen snake.

His pretty-colored skin had been all frosted with the dew.

“Oh well,” she cried, “I’ll take you in and I'll take care of you.”

“Take me in oh tender woman,

“Take me in, for heaven's sake,

“Take me in oh tender woman,” sighed the snake.

She wrapped him up all cozy in a curvature of silk

And then laid him by the fireside with some honey and some milk .

Now she hurried home from work that night as soon as she arrived.

She found that pretty snake she’d taken in had been revived.

“Take me in, oh tender woman ,

“Take me in, for heaven’s sake,

“Take me in oh tender woman,” sighed the snake.

Now she clutched him to her bosom, “You’re so beautiful,” she cried.

“But if I hadn’t brought you in by now you might have died.”

Now she stroked his pretty skin and then she kissed and held him tight .

But instead of saying thanks, that snake gave her a vicious bite.

“Take me in, oh tender woman,

“Take me in, for heaven’s sake,

“Take me in oh tender woman,” sighed the snake.

“I saved you,” cried that woman.

“And you've bit me even, why?

“You know your bite is poisonous and now I’m going to die.”

“Oh shut up, silly woman,” said the reptile with a grin,

“You knew damn well I was a snake before you took me in,

”Take me in, oh tender woman,

The song by Oscar Brown Jr was originally released as part of a civil rights album

Apparently Trump has continued reading it since the 2016 campaign. Brown's daughters say it was never about that and Trump is the snake:

CNN: "The elephant in the room is that Trump is the living embodiment of the snake that my father wrote about in that song," Brown said. "It's a political agenda that deals with separatism, racism, sexism, and it's kind of thing that's polar opposite to what Oscar Brown Jr. was about," said Maggie Brown, daughter of Oscar Brown Jr.

Trump finishes a long rant about electric boats with a segue into an anti-trans story and a few rhetorical questions for the audience:

Who wants open borders?

Who wants men playing in women's sport?

Who wants electric cars?
