It was a laptop containing a crazy mixup of files, including stuff that couldn't possibly have come from him because it was planted after he allegedly handed it in.  Anyone who had managed to pilfer his emails (see "DNC Hack") could have manufactured it.  In Biden's lawsuit he referred to "data stolen from me", not "stuff from my laptop".

marmel: Keeping in mind Hunter Biden has since sued Giuliani for leaking bis private info from that laptop.

That is not the case. Hunter Biden was suing Giuliani for “hacking into, tampering with, manipulating” his personal data. But, you'll be pleased to know Hunter Biden dropped the legal action last month ; ).

Some unlikely story about Gulinani already being bankrupt..

Yeah but part of the lawsuit was specific about data obtained from the 'computer repair guy' where the laptop was supposedly abandoned. Biden has never denied the laptop was his, he hasn't admitted it was either but I think it's reasonable to assume here it was his laptop once upon a time. How it got to the repair store I don't know.

We do know the FBI later seized the laptop and some data from that laptop was used against Biden in his trial.

marmel: Back to 2024 I hold very little hope that either candidate will make any change whatsoever to fix anything in the US.

Roosevelt's New Deal, a generation later Kennedy and Johnson's end to segregation, then... Obamacare maybe?

Obama was certainly the last to offer any real dignity to the role, regardless of what he did or didn't achieve. I think quite a bit of Obamacare was rolled back by Trump.

Not quite, Trump wanted to but he didn't (or couldn't):

The doctor states there are many other possible factors for recent observations. Imo just been overdoing it.

The Democrats do have a backup plan - Harris

You could accept that argument about him just overdoing it, had there not been multiple and frequent instances over the past few years.

An assertion like that requires examples. Otherwise it is just opinion.

Taking the first result as an example. The claims are really very thin. That claimed example for instance is just Biden's usual meandering way of speaking where he's listing what has been achieved during his first term including the first black female Vice President and the first black woman (and public defender actually) appointed to the Supreme Court.

I guess it depends on what you call a gaff. There are certainly a couple there but a lot of it seems to be just mixing words, which people of all ages do all the time. Like saying Putin when you mean Xi. You have both leaders at the top of your mind and you say one when you mean the other. If you want more of that, just look at Trump!

A gaff also isn't wandering off the stage in the wrong direction, if the reason is something out of shot that has caught your attention. Again, I think Biden has definitely made some real gaffs that justify wondering about his cognition, but some of it is just people with an agenda trying to make him look as bad as possible. Dr Gupta has called for a comprehensive cognitive test, which would give a much better basis for making cognition judgements. I would like to see it applied to both candidates. Then we can stop with the armchair diagnoses.

Chances of Biden agreeing to any type of cognitive testing prior to the election is approximately 0%.

A fairly big opinion piece on why Biden should step aside and let another Democrat run.

As it as at the moment, things don't look too flash for him. As I said, I can see why Trump wants him to stay in the race; the former probably thinks he would be a really easy opponent to beat (at this stage).

The Whitehouse, the Democrats and the media tried to cover up Biden’s state of health. They knew. Yet they pushed the line that he was ok and that the Republicans were pushing cheap fakes. Yet they tried to get away with it. I do wonder what their plan was once he got elected.
