Donald Trump announced a plan to establish a national “bitcoin stockpile” if he is reelected, the crowd at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, Tennessee, erupted into a fit of celebration.

It's a very cheap play for the bitcoinbro/libertarian vote. Not that all bitcoin people are like that by a long shot. At the moment federal agencies have a policy of liquidating any Bitcoin seized during criminal investigations. If the govt keeps that the govt won't need to buy much if any.

Interesting clip that explains the truth about Biden's Afghanistan withdrawal. One major point from General Mark Milley: Any equipment that was left behind was the property of the Afghan military, not the US. Worth a watch.

Trump crowned? No faux King way!

It just shows business grifters will support the political grifter that benefits them most.

General population be damned.

It will be a pump and dump scam.

Trump will buy millions, then use the federal money to pump up the value so he can sell his share to the feds for hundreds of millions profit. And all this will be done via a shell company in the Bahamas to hide it all and hide the profits.

Cryptocurrencies are a scam. Trump and Republicans are grifters. These are made for each other.

kingdragonfly: Wired: Donald Trump’s Plan to Hoard Billions in Bitcoin Has Economists Stumped

Why are they stumped? He's a grifter, he'll tell his audience whatever they want to hear.  If he was speaking to the Sardine Canners Association he'd be telling them he'll make sardines mandatory for school lunches.

Trump and Bitcoin.
Why...
Because there are people like those that run major coin exchanges that have a lot of wealth.
Some pin money to Trump to boost Bitcoin value and velocity of trade.
It's a good investment. No doubt Kim likes it too

While some like Winkelvoss Twins have been very public about their ownership, nature of wallets mean there are many high value wallets we don't know.

Vance, Peter Thiel links that also link in Elon Musk, his mate David Sacks who gets a boost from being promoted on Elon's X feeds plus many others.

If you are drug trafficker's, People Trafficker's, Arms Trafficker's, Ransomware operation or Scammer this is all just lovely.
Oh and the North Korean, Iranian, Russian, etc drugs/arms/ransom/scam/spy operations.

Trump Pledges to Free Silk Road Creator Ross Ulbricht If Re-Elected

When the General distinguishes between American and Afghani owned equipment. He says that every piece of American owned equipment was either retrieved or destroyed.

I believe him. Every non-consumable soldiers were given, down to canteens. had to be accounted for or the veterans got a bill when the left service.

I've seen videos several pro-Trump veterans stationed in Afghanistan complaining they got a bill for several thousand dollars in missing equipment, and claimed it was "abandoned." However they were always fuzzy about who told them to abandon it.

In other words in reality while in Afghanistan they lost equipment, and didn't tell anyone. Even soldiers have to fill out paperwork.

I feel like I'm in a time loop -- Trump keeps bringing up the movie cannibal Hannibal Lecter in about 1/3 of his rallies. In a recent Deadline interview Anthony Hopkins was told about Trump bringing up the fictional cannibal, and it unnerved Hopkins.

Trump just did it again at his latest rally. And it's weird.

The common working theory is that Trump doesn't know the difference between

  • seeking asylum: "the immigrants seek asylum"

  • and insane asylum: "Batman's Joker intended to do something within Arkham Asylum"

New York Intellienger: The Real Origin of Trump’s Hannibal Lecter Obsession The deeper you go, the less sense it makes.

...
Why did Trump start talking about Hannibal Lecter in the first place?

Trump didn’t just suddenly start ranting about the greatness of Hannibal Lecter one day. As with many other Trump bits, it evolved from a somewhat relevant aside into the unhinged praise for the cannibal killer that we see today.

In early 2023, Trump began claiming, with no evidence, that unspecified South American countries are emptying their prisons and mental institutions into the United States.

It astonishes me that it seems Trump can just say any damn thing he likes with exactly 0 evidence, regardless of how whacked or "far-out" it might sound, and his crowds just lap it up like it's 100% true, the sole reason being because, well, he said it.

It really is a (weird) cult 😮

It's a non uncommon pattern in dementing people, they get stuck on something and keep bringing it up over and over.  It typically goes on for a few months, just long enough to drive everyone around them crazy, and then they pick up something else.

ABC is free-to-air. Fox News is subscription cable.

Fox does have a range of free-to-air local channels and services. Probably Fox would carry a national debate live on those channels. I imagine ABC would have much better nationwide potential audience and reach even if Fox has higher ratings now and then.

ABC likely has as close as you're going to get to an evenly balanced republican/democrat audience. Fox News on cable subscribers are predominantly non-democrat as anyone might well expect.

I decided to have a look at the moderators for Fox, they are Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum.

It does look from thier online videos that they are not (and could not be) totally impartial, nor would the audience be other than partisan.

So I suspect that the "offer to debate on Fox" will not be accepted by  Kamala Harris, and they will then try and accuse her of not wanting to debate to deflect from Trump not wanting to do so in an impartial arena.

Sigh.
