Trump is financially illiterate !

That's what my post said, just not very clearly.  I can't remember the name of the scheme (something Greek-sounding) but think "They're all leather-clad axe-wielding homicidal maniacs, and the men are even worse".

I bet  if I'd started a thread like this about Harris I'd be banned from GZ  but because it's anti Trump then it's OK.

She doesn't tend to lie or denigrate people every single time she opens her mouth, unlike the orange buffoon. There is a vast difference.

Any thread about her and all the illegal stuff she's done (by comparison) would be extremely short.

The NY Times - Trump names Musk and Ramaswamy heads of a government efficiency effort

breaking

How do you slash, cut, restructure and even dismantle parts of the federal government?

If you’re President-elect Donald J. Trump, you turn to two wealthy entrepreneurs: the spaceship-inventing, electric-car-building owner of a social media platform and a moneymaking former pharmaceutical executive who was once one of your presidential rivals.

Mr. Trump said on Tuesday that Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will lead what he called the Department of Government Efficiency. It will be, he said, “the Manhattan Project” of this era, driving “drastic change” throughout the government with major cuts and new efficiencies in bloated agencies in the federal bureaucracy ...

Oh Joy!  😕

Two fascist billionaires will "solve" America's problems?

Oh, Trump has already started! In fact, he's fixing problems that were already there! (satire ahead): https://www.mcsweeneys.net/articles/wow-trump-has-already-fixed-so-many-problems-that-definitely-existed

😀

Lots of rough language. We're talking Australian level rough language level.

But Trump winning will do that to you.

Elon won.

Cruise line offers 4-year ‘skip ahead’ trip to people looking to avoid a second Trump term: Fortune

While there are plenty of people threatening to leave the country following Donald Trump’s Election Day victory, most of those vows fall by the wayside when they learn they’ll have to give up their U.S. citizenship. But for those who are still looking for an escape, a cruise line specializing in multi-year journeys has a suggestion.

Villa Vie Residences, which was behind the 3.5-year cruise for remote workers that set sail earlier this year, has announced a four-year long “Skip Forward” cruise, which will dock at 425 ports across 140 countries.

I hadn't heard this term until today, but I think it's quite accurate to describe the orange buffoon's choices for his incoming cabinet:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kakistocracy

A kakistocracy is a government run by the worst, least qualified, or most unscrupulous citizens.

Interesting choice for Attorney General:

^ Is Trump's patience/tolerance of Elon starting to wear a little thin?

quickymart:  Interesting choice for Attorney General:

The Washington Post - The 5-Minute Fix - Gaetz may have a hard time getting confirmed by the Senate - unless the Senate steps aside for Trump

today

To be the next attorney general, Gaetz would need support of at least 50 of the 53 Republicans in the next Senate (plus the tiebreaking vote of Vice President-elect JD Vance).

That could prove to be tricky.

I don’t think it’s a serious nomination for the attorney general,” said Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), one of the more moderate voices in the Senate, The Washington Post’s Dylan Wells reported.

I think he’s got his work cut out for him,” Sen Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) said, The Post’s Liz Goodwin reported.

When a new president takes office, the Senate’s main job is to confirm - or oppose - people the president nominates to serve in key government roles. But Trump told Republican senators that they need to step aside when he gets into office so he can unilaterally select his leaders.

On Wednesday, Republicans picked their next majority leader - Sen. John Thune of South Dakota.

Thune has not said he would allow Trump to hold recess appointments, but he did tell Fox News Digital that “all options are on the table.

Maybe Judge Cannon will get it, after all her hard work.   🙄

Translated headline: Here is how Trump plans to get Gaetz, and everyone else he favours, in.

He's already telegraphed it in advance, make recess appointments, his toadies on the Supreme Court will say it's within his presidential powers, and from then on all appointments (and de-appointments when they display insufficient loyalty) will be by imperial decree.

I don't think so. It is unlikely to be interesting enough to attract any attention. I count two or three scandals.

  • Trump suing CBS for USD$10Billion for allegedly making Harris look better than Trump in a 60 minutes interview
  • Harris' ghostwritten book quotes several sentences verbatim from Wikipedia (shock!)
  • Some factually made up story about a hit and run + some ai generated picture of Harris wearing a communist uniform lol

Feel free.

Steve Bannon tries to delay trial till Trump gets sworn in

Steve Bannon was sent to jail for defying a subpoena from the House committee investigating the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol. He was convicted of two counts of contempt of Congress in July 2022 for refusing to comply with the subpoenas2. This led to a four-month prison sentence

That guy is such a waste of oxygen IMO, but I guess there's no accounting for taste.

I wonder if he'll have a job in the orange buffoon's new cabinet? I remember he (briefly) had something last time. Maybe he'll just end up getting a pardon and not have to go to court instead 🙄
