johno1234: The Whitehouse, the Democrats and the media tried to cover up Biden’s state of health. They knew. Yet they pushed the line that he was ok and that the Republicans were pushing cheap fakes. Yet they tried to get away with it. I do wonder what their plan was once he got elected.

This seems awfully close to alt-right propaganda to me. How did the White House, the Democrats, and the media try to cover it up? I follow US political news fairly closely and I didn't see any sign of that. Yes, they pushed the line that he was okay because they genuinely thought he was okay, or at least good enough. Otherwise they never would have allowed the debate to go ahead. Biden's supporters were completely caught off guard by his debate performance. That was abundantly clear. If it surprised them then they could hardly have known it would go that way. What do you think they were trying to get away with? If you are going to claim something like this, you need to back it up with evidence.

I just explained it to you. Biden’s meandering, fumbling gaffes were passed off as “cheapfakes” by the Whitehouse and the media ran the narrative that Biden’s physical and mental frailty was faked . In the debate we saw the unedited truth and now most of the media and many democrats are suddenly backpedalling furiously and calling for him to step down.

if you watch the Democrat news you never saw that.

if you watch Republican news they've been showing that since 2021.

but people don't want to post any Fox/Sky(AU) videos because people on GZ will say it's fake

I posted one and got called fake so i stopped

some people say he's gotten worse recently but who knows, he's never had to appear without a script or teleprompters. (he tells the media is also not allowed to answer unscripted questions - there's a video somewhere of him saying that, not this year i may add! also if i post they will say it's fake)

but from what i gather he's been like this for a while

There is an article on CNN which covers some of this. CNN said they were approached by some of the Whitehouse press corp who said they regretted not reporting on Biden's mental decline and why they felt they couldn't.

I watch both International and some domestic news. Genuine Republican news is hard to come by since most has been taken over by blatant propaganda.

I don't watch fox because much of it is fake and attracts multi-million dollar lawsuits while major fox 'personalities' have been outed as serial liars. (Fox lies) I am an old person and prefer not to waste my time on crap.

Speaking of which, I used to watch Sky news in the bad old days when we had Sky and the options were much reduced. Mainly made up of opinionated overweight whitefellas with an inflated sense of importance. I'm glad I have moved on.

You said it. You substantiate it. Otherwise it is just more uninformed opinion.

I'm really not overly concerned what you might consider substantiated or not. The story is on CNN. Read it, or don't read it, either way I'm ok.

There's always been an understanding about the press not reporting too much on politicians' foibles, from serious turn-a-blind-eye like ignoring JFK's endless affairs through to the very British "tired and emotional".  So this wouldn't be an exception for Biden, it'd be normal practice.

And neither am I concerned about your unsubstantiated opinion. I guess it doesn't amount to much.

Not reporting on flaws of character is completely different than not reporting on possible mental capacity issues. You can still run a country while having affairs, but it's a different story if you are suffering from cognitive decline.

That's not how it works. You post the claim, you post the evidence.

I have blocked marmel because that's not how debate works.
