I'm surprized any white person would consider voting Mana after the site of some of Mana's supporters last week yelling and screaming on the TV news "You're all a pack of racist" to a group of white people who were standing there watching..

What amazed me was these Mana supporters were castigating John Key over thew Urewera raids, which took place before he was Prime Minister. This tells me that they were there to protest for the sake of protesting and disrupting the visit rather than being there for a cause. I would have been embarrassed if they were on my team.

Probably not, though the person who brought him most certainly did.

Agree. The article seems to miss that point entirely.

Technofreak: Though I don't think Greenwald is that dumb that he couldn't see his invitation to visit at that time as being political motivated and therefore designed to influence the election.

It's clear he was aware of it, but he did appear dumb enough to think he would not be perceived as taking sides in that. I think he was genuinely surprised at the personal attack from the prime minister on that basis.

I would like to view this item with the racist thing and the urewera thing. The ones I have seen (linked earlier) were different items.

I did not realise this. I mentioned to my partner last night and we almost lost our dinner laughing when we googled and confirmed it.

John Key must just roll his eyes and think "you idiots"

I'm still waiting for the next installment Greenwald was indicating prior to the election. He appeared to be saying that would show NZ using spytech to directly spy on local pacific neighbours for NZ interests.

The Labor party in Australia is more right wing than the NZ National Party tho. The whole scale shifts over there.

What is it with people refusing to believe that terrorist attacks are real?

Putting quotes around it suggests you do not think it is real, which is frankly ludicrous.

As one who has been within earshot of an IRA bombing, I can assure you terrorists are quite real and they WILL arrive in NZ sooner or later. The thing is, Muslims are everywhere and the crazy ones don't care if you are a NZ citizen - you are an infidel westerner and that is all that matters. The harder it becomes for them to operate in other countries, the more they will gravitate to ones with less secure environments.

Like that really crazy teenage terrorist that had a knife(!) and was known by the AUS police? That angry teenage boy the Aussie police knew about and still voluntary met up with? That than attacked these two police officers with a knife and got shot? In the whole raid, no bombs were found, no other wepons besides knifes.

TERROR! FEAR! NEW LAWS!

As I said before you can use encryption to circumvent the surveillance so these new laws dont do anything to reduce the risk of real terrorists. The question should be why was it pushed through anyways?

I am astounded that Sydney being 4 hr away from AKL people still are oblivious to the danger.
