She conveniently seems to have forgotten 1992. John Major vs Neil Kinnock vs Paddy Ashdown
Early exit polls are suggesting a massive victory for Boris, much as many of the polls were suggesting.
Exit polls suggesting a majority of 86 for Johnson. Best result for Tories since 1987. Worst result for Labour in modern history.
Bye bye Jeremy.
If the exit polls are correct, the SNP wins 55 (out of 59) seats.
That doesn't bode well for a "United" Kingdom.
The SNP need the approval of the UK Government for another independence referendum. They won't get it while Johnson is PM.

That's correct. That's also probably why the SNP has done so well - apart from Brexit being unpopular there.
It's somewhat of a moral dilemna, given the mandate BJ has been given to leave the EU having it's origin in a referendum. But BJ is clearly far above letting morality impact on his fabulous career.
It'll be interesting to see how it's perceived in Scotland over time. I have a suspicion that if BJ is perceived to be gloating and telling Scotland to suck it up because it's the "will of the people", it'll turn ugly - and the more forceful Conservatives try to be as a reaction, the uglier it'll get.
But hey, perhaps BJ will turn into a nice honest guy.
So will this mean that we get an FTA, CANZUK? A resurrection of the empire - except countries where brown people are a majority don't get an invite?

I can't see Johnson gloating. He's not Trump.
Nor will it turn nasty. At the last independence referendum it was something like 60-40 against and apparently its now 55-45 for so it's not like a huge majority of the population want independence. The independence issue for Scots is as divisive as brexit is across the UK.
The leader of the Lib Dems has lost her seat. Priceless.
I went to look at the results - and Google have made my day:
marmel:
Too hard to try and figure out why people voted the way they did.
Nothing at all hard about it.
You scare the bejesus out of people by exaggerating a threat, lie about having the solution - that you'll take them back to a safe place that never really existed - and get a little help from influential friends.
