And now we have Judith Collins calling Kiwibuild a waste of time. But I didn't see her Government do anything about the housing crisis while they were in power? In fact I seem to recall John Key saying there wasn't a housing crisis?

BE stated that in the third leaders debate pre election. As house prices had stabilised. They had. But if a housing crisis means affordability, then its still alive and well
Kiwibuild is better than nothing. You also need to factor in that due to affordability there is a huge gap between those who want a house and those who can afford one, plus with the rising prices that were occurring, many had jumped in as soon as they could, so there are probably less buyers now as they have their house, many of the rest cannot afford one.
What gets me is the number of builders that went bust, they surely must have had a lot of work on, or maybe there wasnt that much of a building demand as land is so costly, and that the housing price boom was on existing homes, and likely that some builders jumped in big time building spec homes, as per those in a neighbouring subdivision near me (Wigram, ChCh)
