So is Jamie Lee Ross still an MP or not? Is there going to be a by-election?

Yes he is and because he is an elected MP he has to resign from Parliament to bring a by election

Unless National invokes the waka jumping legislation, which would be politically a bit dicey.

And again.

Does anyone still believe that Jami-Lee Ross is/was the National Party leaker?

I am starting to think this is from outside the Beehive. It's all a bit childish

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

My working assumption is that it’s a member of Parliamentary Services. Someone who, in some capacity, has access to national caucus meetings or notes or minutes from them. This enables them to pass themselves off as a National MP by referring to what happened in the meetings.

Because they report to Trevor Mallard, who in turn allegedly had a relationship with Clare Curran, provided an opportunity to make a joke. I would actually be surprised if it were true though.

...but it might explain why Mallard hastily called off his inquiry 24hrs after announcing it.

Despite my personal feelings toward Mallard, I'm not sure he was either directly or indirectly involved in a cover up. But you could very well be right about it being someone from within parliamentary services.

Got a citation for your Trevor Mallard and Clare Curran claim or just slander?

Lots of this going on here lately!

...but if you are so inclined, a simple google search will provide plenty of innuendo. Enough for me to claim that it has been “alleged”. Im not going to argue whether the allegations are true or not - I wouldn’t know.

Mallard clearly is the dude in Parliament. Extra marital affairs, punching National MP's..what a guy!!!

Looking at Simon Bridges of late he looks like a man who knows his fate. I feel that after the festive break we will see a leadership challenge. Terrifyingly I believe that Judith Collins will make a bid for the job and may very well win it. Judith Collins however will never win the Treasury benches back for National.

Is there anyone else? People need to like them, or at least not dislike them. Trust is needed, the old school National is not the way to go. Bridges was ideal, but he has been found out. They need a new name, that's clean, fresh start, rebuild. And to oppose not nag and bitch. Be professional. As the older reduce and the younger increase, there is a new era of mindset IMHO. The days of bagging, shouting to get the point across isn't what 2018 wants
