Geektastic:

Using Safari on an iMac with a 4Ghz i7 chip and 32GB RAM. Should be enough horsepower I would think?

Yes @Geektastic - I agree.
I just gave it a try by logging in on the Macbook Pro using Safari.  It froze - the same as you report - when trying to load the base 64 image in the edit window.  And it well and truly froze - killed it after a minute or so, then
double-checked by logging in on the same Macbook using chrome - it worked no problems.
So unless there's a huge coincidence, there seems to be a particular issue with using the "quote" function when there's an embedded base 64 image in the post, when using Safari on a Mac.  Perhaps start a thread on another forum (Geekzone?) - it's a bit off-topic here.

I posted the same image there twice, first a base 64, second a link to an upload.

IMO. it's a safari / OSX issue, not a GZ or issue with me, but who knows - off topic here anyway as it's not a "Trump" issue.

Very, very messy.

IMO, even if the media and most of the people believe what happened there, the core Trumpists will never accept that the whole thing was other than a liberal plot to frame their hero.

I sometimes feel that Trump never thought and or intended he would win the election so didn't really care what he did. He is now in the awkward position of holding a baby he didn't want.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

I also don't think the Russians ever truly expected it.
Now the curly problem for them that every diplomatic exchange between the USA and Russia is going to be under the microscope like never before.  Putin is a master of distraction - but I doubt he can help pull Trump through.

However, I'm sure that they're heartened by the success of their manipulation of media to attack "liberalism" in Europe and elsewhere.  Marine Le Pen just had a nice invite to the Kremlin, and good meeting with Putin where he reassured her that “I know that you represent a European political force that is growing quickly.”  Russia are involved in so many levels behind that reality, his comment that he has "no intention of interfering" in French elections is a sick joke - as it's already been done. He's always been several moves ahead.

what we are seeing is it does not take an all out military or any assault to take away the choices of democracy. It can slip from our grasp without us knowing or by our own actions. The best defence of democracy is not F18s, ICBMs or Divisions of Soldiers it is vigilance.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Trump is supposed to be signing the "Energy Independence" executive order tomorrow (Tuesday US time). This paves the way to pulling out of the Paris accord, repealing the Clean Power Plan etc.
Projections of the effect here:

It's also looking less like being a "vote winner" in the US.

I believe that we've seen the same trend in other policies, there's increasing polarisation of views, but the "Trumpist" view is becoming the minority view.  The same trend is seen with "Obamacare" repeal:

Perhaps a side effect of having such a bare-faced liar as POTUS, but also that once an issue starts to get people thinking, more will come to the right conclusion than be taken in by propaganda.

I thought Scott Pruitt was a delusional conspiracy theory climate change denialist..

But wait there's more...

http://www.politico.com/story/2017/03/pruitt-climate-change-236572

Trump/Pruitt extreme denialism is not "extreme" enough for some good old boys of the alt:right apparently.

“There’s no question that there was a very serious effort made by Mr. Putin and his government, his organisation, to interfere in major ways with our basic fundamental democratic processes,”

 - Dick Cheney today.

This is priceless, in so many ways. MAGA - lol.

I read it differently... Trump/Pruitt denialism is in full flight, but they're wary of getting smacked down by the courts again. So they're watering it down until later.
