Press conference at 11.
Oh well - what's next?
He had an inappropriate relationship with a staff member, the PM says he won't be standing in the 2020 election.
At a time when Aotearoa needs the best possible leadership from the Beehive it would seem we have a hornets nest of idiots, creeps and dodgy dealers. May someones deity help us because that lot wont.
Minister of Workplace Relations, no less
He has certainly taken that on board
Now the NZ sites can spend the next few days digging up all the salacious details. I am against them doing this to be honest. If it involved him and no other issue with the party, and he resigns, then the wound has been cauterized and we should just move on.

I assume if he resigned, then he won't be getting paid by the tax payer between now and then?

Scuttlebutt says there is more to this than is currently being said. I'm sure it will come out eventually.

He was dismissed by the PM. This means that the GG will remove his warrant to be a Minister, unsure what the pay issue will be but Id assume a termination means pay ends last night
Most exciting lead up to election ever. Love it. , Please oh please let Tyford be the next to go.

I'd be keen to see him go as well, though we are getting pretty thin on the ground for even relatively experienced MP's and that doesn't bode well for delivery in NZ (not that Twyford has been associated with delivery anyway).
Despite what some say, experience *is* important.
It is good that politicians of questionable character and judgement are being weeded out, but I am sorry this is even necessary. Having these people in positions of power weakens our democracy. We need a government we can have faith in, and we also need that in the Opposition.
Plesse igmore amd axxept applogies in adbance fir anu typos

OMG Andrew Little in workplace relations :( Almost as good as when they put him in charge of small business development. /me facepalms.
Bit unfair on the minister of workplace relations as he was just getting familiar with his ministry responsibility.
Did you see Phil learn carpentry? Or Jonesy take up tree planting? Or....................
