I will go out on a limb and make a prediction just to see how close I come: Drumph will not be the candidate. The Republican establishment will pull out all the stops to avoid that. They will remember Goldwater and recognise that Drumph won't stand a chance against either Democrat. They will do all the dirty back-room deals they can to avoid this. I can't say Kaisich will be the one, because he doesn't seem to have a lot of pulling power, but it won't be Drumph. He terrifies the GOP and his nomination would mean the effective end of it.

Republican strongmen to play dirty? That would send the guy who wins fair and square into amok.

Are you implying that the Don fights "fair and square"?

He played by the rules didn't he? First to 1235 or something. Or has he been pinged by something already?

Best news so far in the US election primaries - Cruz is out.

He had equally nutty ideas as Trump, some worse, but thinks he was doing god's will which is very dangerous.  Trump isn't the antichrist that Cruz may well have been.  "Lucifer in the Flesh" (Cruz as described by John A. Boehner).

I'm not so sure about that logic. IMO politicians says what they think will get them voted in. Since no one else wants to vote for him, my understanding was the untapped potential of conservatives looked tempting, as they traditionally don't vote, so he tried to harness their votes.

I believe Trump is whoever he needs to be too, hence there are days where he goes to church, declares himself very Christian, etc

Yep, come campaign time Don will be great. Hey man I can clinch this deal. I'll be whoever the voters want me to be. Talk about democracy, it's a legit and public scam if you ask me. I've been in the US during state elections, he stole from a 7/11 when he was 12. No lie . It's like that. Here we get policies and responses that's at least something

Yes he is, but, and its a big but. The GOP has "disliked " him. Is he a flavour of the moment or a non politically experienced rich guy?? The world is not a real estate deal.

If the American public vote him in, i'll be flabbergasted, and pleased I live in a remote nation

How's this for a scenario.    The Republicans will engineer a very half baked attempt to derail Trump (half baked on purpose) then at the Convention they will wheel in very old senior figures to say that democracy has to be respected, that Trump won fair and square, blah blah, & he will be confirmed as the candidate.    Making Trump look the good guy who has triumphed over the dodgy elite.

Imho the reality is Trump is the only candidate that can come close to winning it for the Republican party. Hopefully he will miss the mark by tens but anyway. Any Republican party people wanting a job will grab his coattails and pull themselves on board the gravy train asap. There is a_lot of gravy in American politics. For instance the president just appoints nearly a couple of thousand people as various public paid functionaries, does not even have to be elected. In turn then these people some of them will give government contracts effectively and the gravy train rolls on..

Nowhere is remote when it's a small island and you have nuclear powered CBG's to reach it...! Pearl Harbour is remarkably close at 25+ knots.

Not that I think for a moment the Americans would come here in anger, you understand. Just saying!

I just hope the likes of Cruz who Trump insulted rather badly don't be a pack of hypocrites and support him at the convention. ..  Maybe there will be an independent x  Republican candidate..

As Gzt mentioned, gravy train, I can see that, getting their jobs lined up. Ugh. I think I recall Don saying he will make good with the Republicans in the GOP that are against him. but not all. Maybe that favours a gravy train Cruz than a third party candidate that GOP puts up? Who knows
