MikeB4:

He has said this week that he is the worst treated politician in history. I wonder what regard he had for Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot or Colin Craig ?

Or Obama - Trump himself spent years on the "birtherism" trail.

I can't feel any pity for Trump at all - with his history of treating people badly, he should STFU and get back to trying to do the job he wanted so desperately, he lied, deceived, and abused others to get there.

Mr Trumps new theme song...

Nobody likes me, everybody hates me,
I think I'll go eat worms!
Big fat juicy ones,
Eensie weensy squeensy ones,
See how they wiggle and squirm!

Down goes the first one, down goes the second one,
Oh how they wiggle and squirm!
Up comes the first one, up comes the second one,
Oh how they wiggle and squirm!

No matter what the occasion, what the subject, what the crisis, he manages to make it about himself. He takes narcissistic self-absorption to a whole new level. The DSM may have to invent a new category of mental illness just for him. That ought to please him.

President Trump had advice for Coast Guard cadets - and a message for his critics:

"Look at the way I’ve been treated lately, especially by the media. No politician in history, and I say this with great surety, has been treated worse or more unfairly. You can’t let them get you down. You can’t let the critics and the naysayers get in the way of your dreams. I guess that’s why I won, thank you. I guess that’s why we one. Adversity makes you stronger. Don’t give in. Don’t back down and never stop doing what you know is right. Nothing worth doing ever, ever, ever came easy. And the more righteous your fight, the more opposition that you will face."

The president ticked off a list of "accomplishments" he’s made so far during his presidency.

“I’ve accomplished a tremendous amount in a very short time as president. Jobs are pouring into our country, a brand new Supreme Court justice – who’s going to be fantastic for 45 years, a historic investment in our military, border crossings - thank you to our general - are down more than 70 percent in just a short period of time – a total record by the way, by a lot,” Trump said.

“We’ve saved the 2nd Amendment, expanded service for our veterans. We are going to take care of our veterans like they’ve never been taken care of before. I’ve loosened up the strangling environmental chains wrapped around our country and our economy – chains so tight that you couldn’t do anything, that jobs were going down. We were losing business. We’re loosening it up,” he said.

“We’ve begun plans and preparations for the border wall, which is going along very, very well. We’re working on major tax cuts for all,” he said, pledging to give the American people “the largest tax cut in the history of our country if we get it the way we want it.”

He also said his administration is “getting closer and closer day by day to great health care for our citizens.” He said “the people understand what I’m doing, and that’s the most important thing.”

“I didn’t get elected to serve the Washington media or special interests. I got elected to serve the forgotten men and women of our country, and that’s what I’m doing. I will never stop fighting for you, and I will never stop fighting for the American people,” Trump said.

Future tweet by Trump:

"My twitters are so powerful I'll make the FBI tell the truth. If they prosecute me, I'll see the judges in court."

Yet it was obvious that he was like that long before he was running for POTUS.  It must be an attribute some people like or find admirable.

I thought the podcast here http://www.wnyc.org/series/media-podcast - The Trouble with Reality- went some way to explaining at least my feelings about Trump. That's the first time I heard someone explain the emotional side so well.

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/20/us/politics/michael-caputo-house-committee-russia-trump.html

"Michael Caputo, who served as a communications adviser to the Trump campaign, has been asked by the House committee investigating Russian election meddling to submit to a voluntary interview and to provide any documents he may have that are related to the inquiry.

The House Intelligence Committee, which is examining possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian officials, made its request in a letter on May 9.

Mr. Caputo, who lives near Buffalo and spent six months on the Trump team, worked in Russia during the 1990s and came to know Kremlin officials.

He also did work in the early 2000s for Gazprom Media, a Russian conglomerate that supported President Vladimir V. Putin.

Mr. Caputo has strongly denied that there was any collusion between him or anyone else on the campaign and Russian officials. He has also accused the committee of smearing him."

I see he's been hobnobbing with the Saudis and brokered a deal to sell them a s***load of American made weapons. I feel a lot safer now.

http://elitedaily.com/news/politics/donald-trump-saudi-arabia-barack-obama/1955979/

"Trump Just Did Everything He Criticized Obama For In Saudi Arabia"

"For his first trip abroad as president, Donald Trump made his way to Saudi Arabia in an effort to strengthen international relationships.

Of course, his travels incited both praise and criticism back home… but mostly criticism.

Ironically, many believed the president seemingly changed his tune on a variety of issues once he landed in the Middle East. People were quick to compare Trump’s latest actions to that of former President Barack Obama.

For starters, Trump wasn’t in favor of President Obama bowing to any Saudi leader back in 2012.

He took to Twitter (naturally) to share his viewpoint.

Barack Obama bowed to the Saudi King in public -- yet the Dems are question Mitt Romney's diplomatic skills

But five years later, we find Trump in the exact same scenario, doing what he once criticized Obama for — bowing.

It’s a new situation entirely when you’re forced to follow the former president’s footsteps.

Trump (again) utilized his favorite social media platform to find fault with Michelle Obama not wearing a headscarf in Saudi Arabia, saying we have “enuf” enemies (making a strong case for that Twitter spellcheck tool).

Many people are saying it was wonderful that Mrs. Obama refused to wear a scarf in Saudi Arabia, but they were insulted. We have enuf enemies

Of course, no one wanted to miss the opportunity to point out that Melania Trump left for Saudi Arabia sans headscarf.

..."

The Democrat in the Montana election is slightly ahead of the Republican and may well win! This turnaround is big news in a very redneck state. Hopefully it is the start of a trend.

You would hope the Republican wouldn't win. He assaulted a reporter yesterday, breaking his glasses in the process.

But American politics is weird at the moment, and alpha males like this tosser are considered desirable by many voters.
