Well she isn't the most photogenic politician going around!

But, in any case, I'd not get into name calling, I'd rather stick to the issues. Decorum and all that

Some very unflattering pictures have been taken of her but most are fairly appealing. She has a lot of teeth. That wasn't really my point, though, and I wasn't trying to make fun of Bridges. I was just struck by the way his images come across. He almost always appears wounded and surprised, just like a kicked puppy. Whether in opposition or in government, I would rather have his style than Judith Collins, but she is far more likely to get supporters excited. Bridges seems utterly lacking in X-factor, and these days that is what it takes to win an election, like it or not. Just look at JA's example.

I find your description of someone "like a kicked puppy" quite offensive, regardless of who you referring to.

Sorry, people get offended here. How about this instead: soulful, uncomprehending stare wondering at the unfairness of life.

Coalition launches climate change fund. $100 million over 30 years, or $3.3 million per . That will not do it, seems more like they are playing with it.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Trevor Mallard has to be the worst speaker of the house in my memory. His bias is outrageous and he in my view is about as poor a Speaker as he was an MP. Surely we can do better than this!?

His performance yesterday and his use of bad language in the House and is inexcuseable.

I am not surprised National walked out of the house today. Mallard is and always has been the biggest bully there.

When it was annouced he was going to be Speaker, my jaw hit the ground. I was more upset about that, than Labour getting into power. He is everything that epitomises the poor reputation that politicans get. I was shocked the National party supported his position.

The Speaker of the House is one of New Zealands highest ranked positions it needs to be filled by someone that best fits that level and conducts the role with dignity, professionalism and neutrality. None of that is currently on display. The position does not need to be filled from the Government side of the House.

To some degree I'd almost say it should come from the opposition side, and YES I would actually feel this way if National were in Government.

But at the very ideal, it should be someone who is capable of some form of unbiased mediation and someone with a reasonably cool headed temperament. This job just feeds Mallards ego.
