Cloudflare has actually terminated a white supremacist website before - they terminated The Daily Stormer when supposedly the website started claiming Cloudflare supported their ideals. That the only time they terminate a neo-nazi website is when the neo-nazi website makes a statement that could impact their business leads me to believe they do, in fact, support neo-nazi websites.

One really has to wonder what value, if any, is being provided by our so-called security services. Maybe they were just too busy spying on Greenpeace and the Greens party to do their real job. There isn't even a mention of right-wing extremism in the 10 years of public documents released by both services, in spite of Muslim complaints. They seem to have been completely asleep at the switch. A lot like the services in the USA were accused of after 9/11. Ever heard of learning from experience, guys?

No bail. He is not a flight risk but no bail and no name suppression, inside for almost a month till his appearance. The teen was the same, no bail

I mean to be fair, most of the things you read in history books are distasteful, I see this as no different. I am sure the ?scholars dedicated to writing them wrote as accurately as they possibly could without doctoring for fear of ridicule, with the technology that was available (oral tradition), and with no intention of dividing the world 2500 years later.

It is no more distasteful than accounts of events in WW1, WW2, Korean war, Afgan war, Isis war, Chch attack.

The American operator of a controversial website has smacked down a request by New Zealand police to hand over posts and video links that appeared on the site as the Christchurch terrorist attack unfolded.

In an obscenity-laden email, Kiwi Farms founder Joshua Moon dismissed the plea by Detective Senior Sergeant John Michael:

Is this a joke? I'm not turning over information about my users.

The person responsible for posting the video and manifesto PDF is myself.

I feel real bad for you guys, you've got a quiet nation and now this attack is going to be the first thing people think of for the next 10 years when they hear the name New Zealand, but you can't do this.

Tell your superiors they're going to make the entire country and its government look like clowns by trying to censor the internet.

You're a small irrelevant island nation barely more recognisable than any other nameless pacific sovereignty.

You do not have the clout to eradicate a video from the internet and you do not have the legal reach to imprison everyone who posted it.

If anyone turns over to you the information they're asking for they're not only cowards but they're f***ing idiots.

I don't give a single solitary f*** what section 50 of your fagg*t laws say about sharing your email.

F*** you and f*** your s***hole country, Kiwi Farms has nothing to do with New Zealand.

Personally, I'm very happy that "Kiwi Farms has nothing to do with New Zealand".

I often feel that the internet does more harm than good and I really find it very hard to find the good. I have today closed my Twitter account and next will be my Facebook account. Google plus will die next month. I had previously never heard of Kiwi Farms and I am glad of that but unfortunately I cannot unlearn about it.

Very interesting how the first world is up in arms about the NZ video with websites blocked (albeit only for a layman) yet anyone can watch civilians of other countries being raped, beating, blown up, tortured and shot on a host of websites right now.

Welcome. I'm John Oliver. Unfortunately we must begin with the tragic events in Christchurch, where 50 people were killed and many injured when a white supremist terrorist attacked two mosques.

This wasn't just a disgusting act of a f*cking a$$hole, it was a total afront to the values of the people of New Zealand.

As the Prime Minister pointed out

“We New Zealanders were not chosen for this act of violence because we condone this racism, or because we are an enclave of extremism, we were chosen for the very fact that we are none of these things,”

She's absolutely right. New Zealand is an incredible place even though we make fun of it on this show all the time.

And you know there's nothing I like more than making fun of New Zealand.

But part of that may be is that controversy get handled with charm and good cheer.

How can you not love a country that has decide to design a new flag for itself, and someone submits this:

A kiwi bird that shoots a laser out of its eyes.

My point is New Zealand is amazing and it is showing its strength in showing how it responds to its tragedy.

The same cannot be said for Australia's Fraser Manning. A hard line racist politician and a melted candle of [American movie actor] Ed Harris.

We actually talked about him before when he talked about a final solution to Muslim immigration. His comment about the shooting was on-brand:

the real cause of the bloodshed on New Zealand streets today is the immigration programme which allowed Muslim fanatics to migrate to New Zealand in the first place ... Muslims may have been the victim today, but usually they are the perpetrators

Holy sh1t! That might be the worst possible response...
