I'm sure there must be a lawyer who would be so desperate for work she would jump at the chance to help prove election fraud...their names escape me though...Ellis? Powell? Ghouliani? I'm sure at least one of them must have some on their hands to step in and assist 😄

kingdragonfly:  CNN: "MyPillow" Mike Lindell’s lawyers in election defamation cases seek to quit over millions of dollars in unpaid legal fees

Trump and his cronies always prefer to use somebody else's money.

Surely they will run out of lawyers soon - even incompetent lawyers expect payment.   😟

You'll remember Trump owes Rudy Giuliani millions in legal fees, and Rudy Giuliani own lawyers are suing him for unpaid bills.

Daily Mail, exclusive: IRS claims Rudy Giuliani owes $550k in unpaid taxes and places a LIEN on his $4.5million Palm Beach penthouse

The IRS has placed a lien on Rudy Giuliani's $4.5 million penthouse after accusing the fallen attorney of owing more than half a million dollars in unpaid taxes, DailyMail.com can reveal.

The federal tax agency claims the 79-year-old former New York City mayor owes $549,435.26 in unpaid income taxes for 2021, according to a notice filed in court in Palm Beach County, Florida.

The IRS placed a lien on Giuliani's penthouse in Palm Beach, just three miles north of former President Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence.

This must be pretty galling for someone who used to make a living as a lawyer - can't even get her own case thrown out!

https://abcnews.go.com/US/judge-denies-sidney-powells-request-dismiss-georgia-election/story?id=103767574?id=103767574

Her defense is going to be quite interesting - I wonder how she plans to defend all her (wrong) public statements she made about (deceased) Chavez and votes being counted overseas being behind supposed election fraud?

House Speaker Chaos and Lawyers Drop Mike Lindell

Tommy Campbell

Wow. The house is without a speaker and Mike Lindell is without lawyers. What a week. Campbell mocks the hot takes to replace ousted speaker McCarthy from Mitch McConnell and Marjorie Taylor Greene and takes a hilarious deep dive into lumpy pillow Mike Lindell’s reaction to losing his MyPillow legal team and more.

Maybe one Kiwi deplorable's party is finally starting to fall apart? This guy - even though he won for National in the same electorate previously - doesn't seem to have a hope in hell this time around.

Going to Add ACT to the list as well as some other minor parties as they threaten "US style government shutdowns" , ie they want to become the tail that wags the dog.

I say bring on another election if that happens, the minor parties will lose a lot of support.

Why should X / Twitter have all the fun?

Washington Post: Amazon’s Alexa has been claiming the 2020 election was stolen

Amid concerns the rise of artificial intelligence will supercharge the spread of misinformation comes a wild fabrication from a more prosaic source: Amazon’s Alexa, which declared that the 2020 presidential election was stolen.

Asked about fraud in the race — in which President Biden defeated former president Donald Trump with 306 electoral college votes — the popular voice assistant said it was “stolen by a massive amount of election fraud,” citing Rumble, a video-streaming service favored by conservatives.

The 2020 races were “notorious for many incidents of irregularities and indications pointing to electoral fraud taking place in major metro centers,” according to Alexa, referencing Substack, a subscription newsletter service. Alexa contended that Trump won Pennsylvania, citing “an Alexa answers contributor.”

Multiple investigations into the 2020 election have revealed no evidence of fraud, and Trump faces federal criminal charges connected to his efforts to overturn the election. Yet Alexa disseminates misinformation about the race, even as parent company Amazon promotes the tool as a reliable election news source to more than 70 million estimated users.

Amazon declined to explain why its voice assistant draws 2020 election answers from unvetted sources.

The NY Times - Santos Faces New Charges Accusing Him of Lies and Credit Card Fraud

10 Oct 2023

Federal prosecutors on Tuesday filed a significant array of additional charges against Representative George Santos of New York, accusing him of new criminal schemes, including stealing the identities and credit cards of donors to his campaign.

The new accusations were made in a 23-count superseding indictment ...

The new indictment filed in the Eastern District of New York added 10 charges against Mr. Santos: conspiracy to commit offenses against the United States, wire fraud, aggravated identity theft, access device fraud, false statements to the Federal Election Commission and falsifying records to obstruct the commission.

Santos, who is expected to appear in federal court on the additional charges on Oct. 27, told reporters that he does not intend to resign from Congress.

EDIT  (added because it is a fine example of word salad.)

In response to a move to expel him from Congress, mounted by his fellow New York Republicans, Santos has issued a long-winded statement.

"Republicans must remain steadfast in our commitment to upholding due process and respecting the constitution …

An expulsion of myself as a member of Congress before being found guilty from a criminal investigation will set a dangerous precedent.

This will do nothing other than erase the voices of the electorate.

Let us not succumb to the distractions and let the political games take precedence over the people’s welfare.

We must stay focused on the task at hand, working diligently to address the pressing issues that affect the lives of our constituents."

EDIT

Laments one resident of Alabama: "now I feel bad about torching the library because there's only copies of the Bible and 'Maga Kids'."

The Independent: Alabama flags children’s book for censorship because author’s name is ‘Gay’

A children’s book has been flagged for censorship by Alabama officials – because the author’s surname is “Gay”.

The book, Read Me a Story Stella by Marie-Louise Gay, was placed under review at the Harris County Public Library due to its “sexually explicit” nature, Al.com reported.

But the story has no sexual content, and is in fact about a brother called Sam and sister called Stella reading books together as they spend the day building a fort.

Harris County Public Library executive director, Cindy Hewitt, said that the book was incorrectly put on its list of books under review because the author’s name “Gay” triggered a keyword in the facility’s system.

“Obviously, we’re not going to touch that book for any reason,” Ms Hewitt said.

Corruption on the other side of the aisle:

The Washington Post - Sen. Bob Menendez charged with conspiring to act as foreign agent

12 Oct 2023

NEW YORK - Sen. Bob Menendez (Democrat N.J.) was charged in a superseding federal indictment on Thursday with conspiracy by a public official to act as a foreign agent, intensifying the legal peril facing the veteran lawmaker as he continues to resist calls to resign.

Federal prosecutors charged Menendez, 69, and his wife Nadine with bribery last month, alleging that they accepted cash and gifts totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars in exchange for attempting to assist the Egyptian government.

The senator, his wife, and three associates were charged with conspiracy to commit bribery and conspiracy to commit honest services fraud. The Menendezes also were charged with conspiracy to commit extortion as a public official.

Now they face an additional count for allegedly conspiring to have Menendez act as an illegal foreign agent on behalf of the Egyptian government, while he was serving as a U.S. senator with access to sensitive intelligence as the former head of the Senate’s Foreign Relations Committee.
