One possible VP contender has removed himself from the race, Roy Cooper: https://edition.cnn.com/2024/07/29/politics/harris-vice-president-roy-cooper/index.html

to be honest, i don't rate highly any of the current contestants, most of them were not elected rather installed, only Trump is elected, but i know who I'd pick
luckily i don't need to choose, I pity the Americans for the choice they have
What are you talking about? Harris was elected just like Biden. Her possible VP picks are mostly governors and senators, also elected. Buttigieg is an appointee, not sure about any others.
Edit: Maybe you are referring to the candidate selection. It is not entirely clear. Trump won the primary selection process so he was selected but he hasn't been elected to anything yet. It is true that Vance was 'installed' by him but that is how the process works. The chosen presidential candidate gets to choose the running mate.
The democratic VP candidates have been neither elected nor installed. They are still under consideration. Eventually one will be chosen by Kamala Harris. An election will soon follow and one of the packages will be declared winner.

Its a tough one, Kelly is not a great speaker, but will appeal to straight white dudes and more so straight old white dudes, which is the one bunch she is missing. But if you going to lose the house you do not want to lose the senate too, so I don't think they will risk it as much as I like Kelly.
Still think Kelly is the one Harris should go for as running mate. He beat the sitting Republican to get the gig in Arizona and is well used to pressure situations from his time as a Navy pilot and NASA astronaut. His record of pubic service craps all over that of Vance. Plus he's got his identical twin brother, Scott, they could send out on the campaign trail and double the amount of events that they could cover, who would know!
If elected he'd also look out for NASA and advocate for getting them adequate funding and potentially sorting out the mess that is Boeing and the ULA. As VP would he be the first person who's flown in space to be at that level of govt, I think so. Almost life imitating art as in "For All Mankind".
anyone thinks Pete Buttigieg talks really well, without knowing anything about him ...

What a load of crap. Biden and Harris were elected.
Batman:
Biden contested unopposed, so no chance for anyone to choose.
Then he dropped out and endorsed Harris, not enough time to run an election process so Harris secured the nomination unopposed through no fault of her own, again, no chance for anyone to vote.
In the last election Harris didn't get enough funding to challenge for the nomination so dropped out, Biden installed after Obama cut off Bernie who would have secured the nomination of not for Obama's intervention.
I'm seeing that nobody gets to choose in America regardless blue or red! But the most chosen seems to be Maga, unless you take into effect the faceless figures behind the scenes like Twitter, Facebook, heritage foundation, lincoln project, etc
Let's see what happens, this gets more interesting by the day. But for now, there's some Olympics to watch before the VP pick is known ...
The Democrat convention haven't happened yet. The states can vote on anyone.

kingdragonfly: Trump Jr riding a white tornado, full of happy dust, with Trump's VP Vance
"Junior was absolutely out of his mind tonight interviewing JD Vance. I did not speed this up."
The first Google hit on it read out some comments, one of which was something like "As a recovered drug addict I can tell you that he won't have slept for days. When the crash comes it's going to be severe".
Ouch.

I think it's a hard enough sell to get Americans to vote for a black woman. Adding a gay man to the mix would make it very difficult indeed.
Trump, GOP has been working on getting loyalists into important positions running election in critical states.
The fix is on, you don't need fake electors if conspiracists are on the inside.
The problem is that the Good People don't want to offend the Bad People's sensibilities. Otherwise, the Bad People would be jailed by now. This includes anyone involved in this bullshit.
They forget extremists don't play by the rules.

gzt: I can see why Josh Shapiro has favourite odds for VP. This was my first watch of Shapiro and I've seen only 5 or 6 minutes of this so far. They'll need a strong campaigner whoever they pick.

Interesting that fox is giving a lot of screen time to Democrat VP candidates!
its so they can pick them apart and create their own fake narrative at a later date
Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.
