"North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States. They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen."

I think this is exactly what's going to make North Korea actually do something .... intentionally or unintentionally ... you know when you read 2 trolls on the internet threatening each other ... the crazier troll might actually do something ...

And

North Korea is "carefully examining" a plan to strike the US Pacific territory of Guam with missiles, just hours after US President Donald Trump told them any threat to the US would be met with "fire and fury".

A spokesman for the Korean People's Army, in a statement carried by North Korea's state-run KCNA news agency on Wednesday, said the strike plan would be "put into practice in a multi-current and consecutive way any moment" once leader Kim Jong Un made a decision.

In another statement citing a different military spokesman, North Korea also said it could carry out a pre-emptive operation if the US showed signs of provocation.

Reading some Russian news, this isn't a headline - more a laughing point - being phrased in terms of "Lilliputian" DPRK poking the USA in the eye.  There's some truth in that.

The USA need to suck up their pride and talk.

General observation - it's poor timing. Many decades of US hegemony wasn't Trump's fault - if past US administrations had foreseen the possibility of a future US president as hopelessly incompetent as Trump, then they might have got off their high horses and had this resolved peacefully long before it came to this.

No chance of resolving peacefully with the categorically insane dictators.

And if you got a bullet in the head then there will only be a power struggle and the new guy who may be worse.

But if the Berlin wall can come down, then so can the DMZ. But it is nowhere near as easy, as you are talking about China, who are nearly just as power hungry but not as insane.

We know Trump, we all agree. And his rant today about a fire of all fires, whatever it was , was dumb. But I see this issue the same as the current Sky issue. Its not Sky's fault and its not Trumps fault. The NK issue (I cannot refer to them as PRNK), it is all their fault. They issue all the rhetoric, today they said they are planning on attacking Guam. 50 years ago, the war would already be half a day old.

For this reason, Trump just happens to be the person in the hotseat.

I cant compare Trump and KJU, they are so different its not funny. KJU is the cause. China, if NK fired anything at SK or USA then they have a right if reply., China has to watch. Then KJU is gone, NK is free, US doesnt need to have bored military there polishing boots.

I wouldn't be surprised if Russia has anything to do with North Korea's impressive milestones that they achieve by the week.

I do not believe that starving your entire population will generate a team of minds that are so superior in advancing a nuclear ICBM in the progress that they've made.

I don't think China has anything to do with this - it is definitely against their interest for full scale war in their last remaining buffer to the US.

Kennedy and the Cuban missile crisis is an interesting example.

In public he made strong threats, but behind the scenes he negotiated to get the missiles removed. Negotiations were successful.

Unfortunately the US has let slip away many previously negotiated opportunities to slow the pace of nuclear weapons development in North Korea. The US should return to negotiations with the aim of a freeze in further weapons development and allow the peaceful development of DPRK.

I wouldn't rule it out, but I also fail to see what Russia has to gain from it. Annoying the US? Yes, OK, I can see why they'd like that. But there's a difference between weakening the US and giving those two self-centred narcissists - one of whom at least is also an idiot - the ability to destroy the world and then set them at each other's throats. Putin doesn't want to be the richest man in the bomb shelter.

IMHO no way, time and time and time again he does things, gets sanctioned, agrees to play nice, gets food and oil, plays up again, its neverending. hes playing the world as a joke. If I was the US I would prefer diplomacy but no way would I be talking to them, thats just embarrasing, being played like a fool. Thats China s jib, they support NK, and they see SEA as their region to be the main player in

Batman: No chance of resolving peacefully with the categorically insane dictators.

Far more evidence has been offered in this thread for the insanity of Trump than Kim. That said, I believe both are sane.
