Alan Lichtman, the guy who predicts all the presidencies (technically even 2000 which he has proven), using his "keys". He is saying he is waiting until after the DNC for his final prediction, but right at this point, a LOT would have to go wrong for Harris to lose from here.

I think for me, Harris now at $330M raised in 8 days with 60% of that first time donors (ie these arent big tech billionaires, its largely individuals with lots of small amounts, supposedly), last I looked 170000 new volunteers. They have all the grass roots events in communities across the US set up. You combine all that with brilliant push back on Trump border and Inflation lies both in her rallies with an awesome well received speech and that excellent ad I put up earlier they plan to release once her running mate is named. I just dont see the honey moon ending.

One issue is supposedly axios is saying due to insider trading type laws, some governors cant accept donors, so I dont know if that changes her choice. The other is, all she needs is a running mate on the same page with Energy. With Shapiro its a bit dicey, being jewish he has had  some bad opinions on Gaza and it may look fake for him to have the same views as Harris, but people can genuinely change a little, not JD Vance sell your soul 180, but if Shappro could explain his change of mind, thanks maybe to Harris etc, it could be genuine. But I would expect Vance to jump on it.

What is happening with these 70 odd Maga aligned Poll folk? That sounds like Trump trying to force a win? I know I dont have it quite right, but I heard something then forgot to clarify what it meant.....

Here we go;

"Nearly 70 pro-Trump conspiracists are election officials in key battleground counties — and they are poised to make a giant mess on Election Day"

Trump black voter share had actually been increasing.

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/3/18/why-are-black-voters-backing-donald-trump-in-record-numbers

This was before Harris became the presumptive candidate ... so it will be interesting to see how much it changes in her favour after she is confirmed.

A lot has changed between then and now though - and this time around I don't think Trump's racial bs is going to end well for him.

https://www.1news.co.nz/2024/08/02/trump-making-2024-campaign-about-harris-race-despite-advice/

Veteran Republican pollster Frank Luntz said he explored racial politics during a Wednesday focus group with swing voters almost immediately after Trump's interview. He found that Harris may be vulnerable to criticism based on her gender, but race-based attacks could hurt Trump among the voters that matter most this fall.

Much has changed, Luntz said, since Trump rose to prominence by questioning the citizenship of Barack Obama, the nation's first Black president.

"Trump seems to think that he can criticise her for how she's dealt with her race. Well, no one's listening to that criticism. It simply doesn't matter," Luntz said. "If it's racially driven, it will backfire."

Hehe I liked the Weird Al one.

So new poll in, another large-ish of 3000RV has Harris up by +5 now, this is 3-4 days since the 12000RV Poll showed Harris +1.

But Im really starting to worry about the pro Trump election deniers in Official Election Poll Certification rolls is more than just an inconvenience. It was said there are processes in place if the Official refuses to certify, but thats not in every state I have also read.

Interesting to note it was Biden's snub of Elon to attend the automobile association (as he is anti unions) that has sent him on this pro Trump anti democrat Tantrum. I suspect he is on the spectrum or something not quite socially wired correctly....

Shapiro tears Vance a new one with an insult which I reckon Vance just stole from watching Ronny Chieng on the "Daily Show". I have to admit when I watched that I thought dang they do sound the same. But regardless if thats the best Vance can do, the world better hope Trump doesnt get in then pass away, Vance is literally a desperate moron.

If it wasnt for Musk using X for political attacks and Fox also using Sky aus to attack Harris, Trump/Vance would be over and done.

The issues she has is if you take Kelly, Texas will flip Red in the senate, if you pick Shapiro you have some views he had a long time ago on Gaza people trying to troll with and supposedly he didnt handle sxl work mis conduct in his office, whilst pretty mild problems, Harris is squeaky clean and they even make up stuff. So not an easy pick.

Moore is super-focused on Maryland and making a difference. I really don't think he wants any part of national politics at least for now anyway.

he's also not on terms with his trans child, but Elon pulled his donations after Thiel's Vance was picked

I'm not sure how much of the EV snub is a factor. most if not all of Elon's money came from government grants, and the conservatives are anti EV. so i'm guessing it's not the EVs but the other stuff.

Polls are starting to look interesting now - Harris is really closing the gap: https://abcnews.go.com/538/harris-trump-tied-538s-new-polling-averages/story?id=112494481

Must admit I'm surprised to see Kennedy take such a hit - I recall seeing a poll somewhere (before Biden dropped out) with him at or around the 10% mark.

Yes and he blames the world for the medications existing, rather than the parentally saying yes to them. but on a human side, I feel for that situation for both parents and the kids who go through this etc.

it would not be hard to do a nasty Trump or Elon version of that Harris ai and just label it "parody". both have a lot of very delicate topics. So wont be surprised to see one come out. I agree with Newsom, it should be illegal, it used official campaign material and when he sent it he did not label it as "parody". Big difference in taking the piss out of a celebrity and trying to influence voters. Motive is the key.

re the cars, no it wasnt about his EVs, it was a Union conference and Biden just felt being about creating jobs, and Elon about lowest possible costs in human labour it wasnt a good fit. Elon took it personal, being weird he takes everything about HIM.

on that topic its becoming clearer fossil fuels will dominate the market, toyota analysis saying at their peak EVs will only make up 30% of the market.

yes only needs to get a bump and is in the lead on avg, but that is the general. But avgs for swing states are in her favour or tied with one to Trum but only just outside range so there is potential to make a play for all of them.

Im not surprised about Kennedy, I think some people were just going there for a taste or could not vote trump or biden.

With that leaked phone call with the two, which sounded to some like they were working together, was just after Harris had taken over so I think people just took the "sane" person route.

I hope they do play on these Dr reports of Trumps sanity that have surfaced, he will be older than Biden was, so if you going to make fun of Biden its time to get payback imo. Her first ad is a banger and really nails Trump on all the key lies hes telling. Which they will officially start sending out once the Veep is onboard.

Whoever Harris picks as her VP is probably going to make short work of Vance in a debate - he has barely 18 months in government, whereas all the names I've seen floated about on the Democratic side have significantly more experience.

Kennedy Jr's campaign was encouraged and started by GOP/Trump dirty tricks, classic thing Roger Stone talks of, financing a spoiler candidate.

Rest of Kennedy family was appalled, it was of no benefit to the left.
It was of benefit Trump.

Trump made this clear with their very friendly phone call offering Kennedy a reward in future Trump administration for helping to get him elected. When/If

Then you have the whole antivax thing.

Remembering Kennedy Jrs trip to Samoa to meet with and strengthen Antivax movement, one of his things.

https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2024/07/how-rfk-jr-falsely-denied-his-connection-to-a-deadly-measles-outbreak-in-samoa/

"" Additionally to the visit...
During this outbreak, Kennedy’s group wrote to Prime Minister Tuilaepa, and he encouraged Samoa officials to examine the measles vaccine to “determine, scientifically, if the outbreak was caused by inadequate vaccine coverage or alternatively, by a defective vaccine.” So Kennedy, like Tamasese, was suggesting the vaccine itself might be responsible for the thousands of cases and scores of deaths.
""

Hardly surprising Trump and Kennedy are so jolly together.

Oh big NOISE going down over Musks potential election interference website or what he donates to along with X featuring anti Harris ads several times a day etc. Its not new news but its back into light the last day or so.
