It's interesting she not denying she got $130,000 shortly before the election.

Perhaps she gives really good phone sex, and that was her bill?

BarTender: Sad Twitter thread

Everyone should read this.

I'm stunned. Yes, everyone should read this. We all know something of the racism that abounds in the 'LAND OF THE BRAVE AND THE HOME OF THE FREE', but that thread brings it home.

The hundreds of contributors to the thread show that there are some good people in America, but I fear that they are outnumbered by the hateful.

If anyone here is on Twitter, how about sending them a link to this GZ thread? It might help them to know that other global citizens despise the Trump Tyranny as much as they do.

I can't post on Twitter (or Facebook) because I refuse to be involved with these so-called 'social media' systems. Anti-social, more like it. Kids are getting very good at typing but less able to coherently converse.

The other day I managed to explain to a teenage boy that he could use his phone to actually talk to people. He was so impressed by my tip that he immediately texted all his friends.

CNN - Doctors want President Trump's head examined

President Donald Trump is "in excellent health," White House physician, Dr. Ronny Jackson, said following his physical Friday.
But it's not clear whether any mental health tests were conducted, despite urging from mental health professionals.
Jackson received an urgent letter from dozens of doctors and health professionals Thursday urging him to perform basic mental health tests on the President.
Trump is 71.
Medicare guidelines suggest patients in this age range should be evaluated for cognitive and neural health function.
The White House has dismissed questions about Trump's mental fitness, calling them "disgraceful and laughable."
They said, prior to the physical, that mental health testing was not something Trump would undergo.

A non-event, or a massive cover-up?  undecided

The issue is now completely resolved - the team responsible for the false alarm has been re-assigned to the newly established 'Strike First Strike Hard' (Pacific) team based in the Pentagon.    This team is tasked with advising the Sec Defense and President on emerging threats in the Pacific region.

Just had a message from my mole in the White House, about the ease with which Trumplestiltskin passed the mental test along with the physical.

They borrowed the Disney robot. Apparently the medical examiners were amazed at DJT's coherence.

Negotiations are under way with Disney to buy the DonBot along with a more thick-skinned copy of the Sarah Huckrybee model.

(If you want to get in touch with my mole, his name's Wacka and he lives in the White House shrubbery.)

The Observer view on Donald Trump (they don't like him wink)

Observer editorial

The president is a disgrace to his country at so many levels.

It is almost one year since Donald Trump was sworn in as the 45th US president. Will he last another 12 months? Day after tumultuous day since 20 January 2017, Trump has provided fresh evidence of his unfitness for America’s highest office.

It is not only that his politics and policies, from tax cuts and climate change to Palestine and nuclear weapons, are disastrously wrong-headed. It is not just that his idea of leadership is divisive, confrontational and irresponsible. Nor does the problem lie solely with his blatant racism, misogyny and chauvinism, though these are indeed massive problems.

His latest foul-mouthed outrage – describing developing countries as “sh*tholes” – is appalling even by his crude standards.

The fundamental failing underlying Trump’s presidency is his wilful ignorance. His frequently petulant, childish behaviour combines with a staggering lack of knowledge and contempt for facts to produce serial, chronic misjudgments. Trump, in power, cannot be trusted. He has been exposed as lacking in empathy, shamelessly mendacious, cynical and unversed or uninterested in the enduring human and constitutional values his office is sworn to uphold. Trump is the first and hopefully the last of his kind: an anti-American president. He is a disgrace and a danger to his country. The sooner he is sent packing, the better.

I was going to ignore this, but I really can't, because of my children...

geekIT:

Or do you have some credible statistics to back up your statement?

Yeah, everyone that fills out a census in both countries gets asked "are you a racist?".  undecided

20+ years in each country, 6- 10 years at a time, over the last 47 years has pretty much explained it... especially with my skin colour...

But you can believe whatever you like. A lot of kiwis are good at that.

amiga500: Obviously this is what is happening in Africa as well. Some are 'genuine' refugees for sure but a huge number are economic migrants and this fact is hardening the hearts of people in Europe.

I'm not sure on the stats. 'Africa' is a bit general for my liking.

A huge amount of the current issues are a direct result of the US led destabilisation of Libya*. The results were entirely predictable. Similar result to Iraq on a smaller scale and much closer to the Europe borders. Plus the resulting destabilisation of adjoining countries. The route out is not pleasant at all for most. Imo many are choosing a chance at life vs worsening degradation and danger.

Edit: yes, led by H.Clinton under Obama. Obama was supposed to be smarter than that but let Clinton dig a deeper and deeper hole. It started as small hole maybe Obama didn't see it coming...

Yesterday Hawaii had a false inbound missile alarm, sent to mobile devices everywhere in the state.

It took authorities 45 minutes to sent a "Not true, our fault, sorry." message.

A state representative sent out a Tweet saying this was a false alert about 30 minutes after the first message went out.

By then most of 1.4 million state residents plus tourists were already preparing themselves for the worst - being wiped out of the face of the planet.

Meanwhile, Trump was playing golf. According to reports, the White House staff had no idea how to deal with this situation - was it real? How to start the preparations for a retaliation if real?

Trump, instead of sending a tweet to his millions of followers immediately as the situation was clarified, you know, to amplify the message that "it's ok, you folks will survive another day" did nothing. The President of the United States did nothing.

His first tweet after this was to complain about the media and fake news.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES DID NOTHING IN A SITUATION WHERE A WHOLE STATE WAS PREPARING TO BE REMOVED FROM THIS PLANET.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES DID NOTHING PROBABLY BECAUSE, LIKE PUERTO RICO, THIS STATE "IS JUST AN ISLAND".

This is the man (not) leading the United States. This is the man who divides a nation instead of uniting it.
