On a brighter note, what would happen if Trump were to simply 'disappear' or suffer a mysterious death in NK?

Really: Who would have a problem with that?

Sadly many millions of Americans.

Including Stormy Daniels' mother, who stated that she'd vote for Trump "every time".

I believe that she has hopes of one day becoming mother to the FLOTUS.

NK 'summit'.

My guess? Trump's being sucked in here and is too stupid to see it.

I think the main purpose of the meeting is to discredit or humiliate Trump in some way (all Asians absolutely hate losing face), allowing NK, SK, and China to cosy-up and develop a club-like tripartite front against the US.

Thats what I see happening. Asia wants to look after Asia. NK asked for a meeting, tick.  NK has thus awarded itself a brownie point for effort. When it comes to nothing, that brownie point still stands. NK and SK cosy up, China helps. SK and China try to comfort Japan. The tripartite comes up with solutions, these go to the UN. The US wants this and this and this, but while NK has meaningful things on that table, its not enough for the US but it is for the UN as a starting point, so the UN relaxes sanctions. Now the US is appearing obstructional, add tweets, and that is confirmed.

This is what I see can happen, and its not a stretch IMHO

The only issue that I can see is how KJU will keep his people from defecting.

Things could easily improve for the NK citizens if such an alliance goes ahead.

Look what happened to Japan after WWII.

NATION WITH CRUMBLING BRIDGES AND ROADS EXCITED TO BUILD GIANT WALL

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—As America’s bridges, roads, and other infrastructure dangerously deteriorate from decades of neglect, there is a mounting sense of urgency that it is time to build a giant wall.

Across the U.S., whose rail system is a rickety antique plagued by deadly accidents, Americans are increasingly recognizing that building a wall with Mexico, and possibly another one with Canada, should be the country's top priority.

Harland Dorrinson, the executive director of a Washington-based think tank called the Center for Responsible Immigration, believes that most Americans favor the building of border walls over extravagant pet projects like structurally sound freeway overpasses.

"The estimated cost of a border wall with Mexico is five billion dollars," he said. "We could easily blow the same amount of money on infrastructure repairs and have nothing to show for it but functioning highways."

Congress has dragged its feet on infrastructure spending in recent years, but Dorrinson senses growing support in Washington for building a giant border wall. "Even if for some reason we don't get the Mexicans to pay for it, five billion is a steal," he said.

While some think that America’s declining infrastructure is a national-security threat, Dorrinson strongly disagrees. "If immigrants somehow get over the wall, the condition of our bridges and roads will keep them from getting very far," he said.

Hehe, I'd work there. Always wanted to be a mole.

Then I could write a best-seller: 'Twump - How To Twansform a Twit into a Twat in Twenty Tweets'.

Anyone want to bet against the 60 minutes episode being the biggest audience ever in the USA?

Yep, saw this on the CNN US feed this morning and it is growing by the minute. One would hope that if the hints are indeed true, then justice will take it's course. The other possible alternative is a "drop feed" war of nerves between both parties to see who will give in first based on "The Money or the Bag" and financial rewards thereof.

Either way, it is certainly interesting to watch as this continues to unfold. Regardless, I guess the real issue is "Did his behavior and actions at that time relate to a "rich - arsed" individual trying to be elected POTUS, or his actions after he became POTUS".

Reminds me of Monica.

Washington: Andrew McCabe, the former FBI deputy director and a frequent target of US President Donald Trump's scorn, has been fired by Attorney-General Jeff Sessions.

McCabe promptly declared that his firing, and Trump's persistent needling, were intended to undermine the Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation in which he is a potential witness.

McCabe was fired just two days before he was due to retire - pure Trump malice.

Better the DCM and being denied your full pension than Polonium 210 or Novichok, but it's the same basic idea.

I hope Trump likes next week's The New Yorker cover, "Exposed".

There's another bit of trouble coming up too.  "Junior's" wife Vanessa has filed for divorce just a few days after Mueller has subpoenaed Trump's businesses, specifically anything WRT Russia.  Junior was of course looking after those business for his father. I suppose she might have been thinking to get out and reach a settlement while the going's good (just in case junior gets bankrupted and biffed in jail), although it's been stated that they've "drifted apart" and just want to go their separate ways. I've heard that before LOL. However she's engaged a top criminal defense lawyer to handle the divorce, not a top divorce lawyer - which is a little unusual.  I've read assorted speculation about how spousal privilege may prevent her from giving evidence (ie against "junior"), but IANAL, the US system is very complex, the Mueller enquiry is a grand jury, even if privilege holds, she could get dragged in to something very ugly.

But when "Monica" was a thing, evangelists and conservatives were hysterical about the betrayal of moral values by a POTUS.

When "Stormy" is a thing, they're scrambling to excuse and forgive him - "Great men have such appeal to the opposite sex that they're tormented by temptation all around them, it's only a minor transgression, let us not judge (as the bible says) but forgive - as Jesus would".

You're right - evangelatives will almost certainly hold that view. But didn't JC also say, 'Now, go and sin no more'?

When did Trump ever stop sinning?

I think JC would've lost patience with Crudley Combover long ago.

I mean, for a guy who ripped into the Temple moneylenders...holy moley! What would he make of Trump's gold plated toilets? More adulterous episodes than Errol Flynn? Scorning the weak, the sick, the poor and the un-lovely?

No, I reckon JC would have had to make an exception.

CBC - McCabe, fired FBI official, reportedly kept memos on Trump that are now with Mueller

Andrew McCabe, the onetime FBI deputy director long scorned by President Donald Trump and just fired by the attorney general, kept personal memos describing interactions with the president that have been provided to the special counsel's office, and are similar to the notes compiled by dismissed FBI chief James Comey, according to The Associated Press.

Though the precise contents are unknown, the memos possibly could help substantiate McCabe's assertion that he was unfairly maligned by a White House he says had declared "war" on the FBI and Mueller's investigation.

CNBC - Comey issues uncharacteristically direct response to Trump: Everyone 'will hear my story very soon'

Former FBI Director James Comey exchanged barbs with President Donald Trump on Saturday, responding to the president's latest broadside by promising to reveal his take on Trump's ongoing struggle with the FBI bureaucracy "very soon."

The former FBI chief is working on a book, expected to be published next month, that is shrouded in secrecy.

Both Comey and McCabe shared at least one thing in common: Both reportedly kept detailed notes on their conversations with Trump.

A report in The Wall Street Journal noted that McCabe passed his notes along to Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is in the thick of an investigation into Russia's attempts to influence the general election.

Here is the strange thing though - according to CNN "McCabe did not keep a copy of his memos after turning them over to Mueller, the source confirmed". That is VERY strange
