Elon is clearly pivoting away from manufacturing consumer EVs.

This YouTuber does a great job of looking through the hype and entertainment …

huckster:

Can we change the title of this thread?

To what?

  • Elon Musk, definitely not The Man or God
  • Masterful Gambit, Elon Musk
  • Elon Musk, the doofus billionaire
  • Elon Musk, the alt-right Q Cultist MAGAturd

Because that's what I think when his name crosses my mind.

"Elon Musk, a man who thinks he's God"

"I regret to say that we of the F.B.I. are powerless to act in cases of oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate commerce." — J. Edgar Hoover

"Create a society that values material things above all else. Strip it of industry. Raise taxes for the poor and reduce them for the rich and for corporations. Prop up failed financial institutions with public money. Ask for more tax, while vastly reducing public services. Put adverts everywhere, regardless of people's ability to afford the things they advertise. Allow the cost of food and housing to eclipse people's ability to pay for them. Light blue touch paper." — Andrew Maxwell

Probably a good idea for any future investor in Tesla to watch.

Also discussing Elon Musk's company that builds robots, Tesla, Inc. They are developing a humanoid robot called Optimus, also known as the Tesla Bot.

Do you mean the one that, during their demo last week, was driven by a hidden human, like a Mechanical Turk?

Cybertruck Q3 deliveries: 16,692

Now the 3rd best selling EV in the US and it currently costs $100k!
And they're still ramping up production.

Beat all of these combined:

Ford F-150 Lightning: 7,162
Chevrolet Silverado EV: 1,995
Rivian R1T: 3,817

Lots of people originally said the Cybertruck would never happen too...

on Cybertruck
Musk : starting price at $39,900 with deliveries expected to begin in 2021.
Actual: starting price is $60,990, and the base model deliveries are expected in 2025

Tesla Roadster (second generation)
unveiled in 2017
Elon Musk :deliveries would begin in 2020
in 2021, prices and reservation removed from website
in 2023, Musk says final design made, and reopens deposits
in 2024, Musk says final design made and will be deliver in 2025
Actual: factory location??? delivery likely never

At least he was honest on this assessment:

"There will be no car like this, if you can even call it a car."

Yea, and with a 30% yearly depreciation rate per year they are a fantastic buy.

Same with any new tech really, if you're an early adopter.

Invites have started being sent out for an $80k Cybertruck now, to reservation holders.

Its a bit of a drop in the Truck Ocean.

Ford F series sales are about 46K to 68K per month depending on month this year.
Electric version is a bit of a niche.

Plus they have other truck models.

https://fordauthority.com/fmc/ford-motor-company-sales-numbers/ford-sales-numbers/ford-f-series-sales-numbers/

Then you have other manufacturers UTE/Truck models in hybrid or pure fuel form.

How many of the 'promised' Model 2 'Peoples Electric Car' could have been built with the resources that went into Cybertruck?

Who else has a robot, with the movement and dexterity of the Optimus, that can be remotely operated?

It's a bad thing when he claims it's autonomous. That's fraud.

Cybertrucks have issues, including edges so sharp that simply brushing against them can cause life-threatening exsanguination (bleeding). They cannot be sold outside a few countries because, due to their design, they will never meet safety standards like ANCAP and ENCAP. Even in the US, they don't look good.

In a crash, you can virtually guarantee severe injury or death for the occupants of the other vehicle (or, heaven forbid, the cyclist or pedestrian).

It might as well have never happened since, in every country that actually enforces safety standards, it hasn't.
