Second I just read my typo that was meant to be "Virtue signaling" So not all in this thread just those who virtue signal to the extreme.

You clearly didn't represented what I said what the and argued against it that's definition of strawmanning I just broke that down. 

 

Refuting what you said is not making myself a victim, its refuting what you said while pointing out the logical fallacy in the way you said it.

 

I didn't invoke any "privilege" is it not my prerogative to reply and defend what I said when you make a post about it?

Exactly. This is what I have also been saying. This is a pattern that NK leaders have repeated over and over. Be aggressive, threaten and bluster, then make concessions to get what you want, rinse and repeat. They have been doing this for years. It works so they keep doing it. North Koreans with televisions must get confused as hell. It can't be easy remembering if they are at war with Oceania, Eurasia or Eastasia.

Well, sure, be ever hopeful etc. but don't get your hopes up. Read KJUs words carefully; promising to stop 'testing missiles without warning' for example means he can still a) test them with warning, b) keep manufacturing them. Promising to destroy the testing site means a) it was already destroyed (although there is good reason to think this may not be entirely true) and b) says nothing about his willingness to stop manufacturing warheads. There's a whole lot of things he didn't say that are arguably more important than the things he did.

 

And as for crossing the DMZ while grinning happily? Why wouldn't he? He had a bunch of hardliners with their fingers on the nuke button watching the whole time. He's untouchable. He's an equal now. He has manipulated the situation perfectly. There's almost no way to lose now. Trump is a moron with the attention span of a toddler who will either give the whole game away in order to score the points he needs to be validated, or walk away in a huff. Either way, Kim wins. And nobody is going to start a war now, because, you know, nukes.

 

If Kim really cared about the welfare of his people, he's had ample time - years - to throw himself on the mercy of any one of South Korea, China, Russia, Japan, the US or hell even Europe or the UN. But he waited until he could destroy a hundred thousand people at the press of a button before walking out as a Big Man and waving to the cameras. If that doesn't speak to his true motives, I don't what else would.

I agree, but this is different. This time, NK has completed itself, its a nuclear nation and will remain so, its not fighting a virtual war to keep itself alive, its now completed its realtime armament so please recognise me, go away US, and everyone you can help me.

They've also got a valid argument that if they did agree to abandon their nuclear program, then there's no point in using the IAEA for verification, as Trump has (with Iran) shown that he will not believe the IAEA, that's now pointless.  There is zero chance that NK would allow the US alone to do the verification.  A guess may be that NK will work with China and Russia on verification in exchange for easing of sanctions, leaving the IAEA and the US out of the loop completely.  Trump's already shown that he can't or won't sanction Russia, and folds when China play hard ball back, despite Trump believing he has a "great chemistry" or whatever with Xi.  Xi wants US influence out of the region.

I think Trump is sticking to some plot he saw on TV show for kids, so he genuinely thinks the good guy (ie Donald J Trump) is always incredibly smart and the bad guy is evil but stupid.  I don't think KJU is stupid.

And amongst all this, I cannot help wonder why Trump the Idiot (yes he is) still holds on to his core base?

I don't care what your politics are but this kind of infantile name-calling serves no purpose whatsoever, other than to demonstrate to people that you are an immature toddler hammering the floor in a tantrum of frustration.

 

People on the left are not the caricatures you make them out to be. Neither are people on the right. Most people are sincere in their beliefs, wherever they come from. Most people want what they perceive to be best for their community. It is a tragedy that more and more, like you, seem unable to communicate their differences in a reasoned and respectful fashion.

Calling Trump an "idiot" isn't even close to as damaging as the (now) POTUS arguing that Obama's race or Clinton's gender made them inferior.

 

The problem isn't that Trump is just an "idiot" - he's leading a fascist movement, and that's being facilitated by Murdoch, Hannity and a handful of billionaires and oligarchs.
