This is classic 'wokeness', taking offence on somebody else's behalf (incorrectly, I might add) and shouting down others until they give in.

I do not find her attractive or competent either, but my wife is gorgeous, smart and competent, I'm sure others would have a different opinion (they'd be wrong...) and that's perfectly okay.

*edit*

Gee, another caveman. Welcome to the 21st century. Don't be afraid. Those enlightened values won't hurt you.

You kind of prove the point when you insult people because they disagree with you ... unless caveman was meant to be a compliment

GV27:

So ummm.... moving on to something vaguely election/politics related:

It's dawned one we won't see Labour and The Greens leaders on the same TVNZ debate stage at any point, which is interesting. But even more so because apparently Labour still loves the idea of a hugely expensive metro system for Auckland and the Greens want the infinitely more-affordable street-level Light Rail system like the Gold Coast system, which could probably go all over Auckland for the same price as the metro proposal to the airport.

https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/300087643/nz-super-fund-still-in-the-picture-as-auckland-light-rail-heads-to-the-election

I would actually have been really keen to see the Greens put Labour on the spot on this one, given it's a massive difference in their policy preference and the Greens realistically need to be taking votes from Labour to get over 5%. But I'm not sure we'll get the chance to see it happen.

There is also the possibility in these unprecedented times, that labour get a single party majority in the election.  If they do (shudder) will the bother with the greens at all?

There are arguments for and against having a coalition partner when you don't need one.

There is *zero* chance of the Labour not involving Greens in at least a supply and confidence agreement.  They need the Greens for when "times aren't so good" and excluding them, would send the Greens right to National. The Greens will also know where Labours Skeletons are buried. It's somewhat likely they will give them a pretty set of concessions. I have no love for Winston whatsoever, but Labour/Greens running unchecked will be a nightmare in my opinion.

Labour vs NZF would be even more entertaining.  I don't think Ardern (or many people) could go toe to toe with Winston in a debate.

Maybe but these are unprecedented times.  The greens have already ruled out working with National so many times, it's hard to believe they would.  Say what you like about the greens they generally stick to their principles and have become somewhat more respectable under Shaw.

Shaw is very much the face of the party.  The other Greens co-leader is Kelvin-Davis-level invisible to the extent I've genuinely forgotten her name.

They have to be over the threshold before they can be involved in anything. Currently it seems them getting into parliament is an open question, although there is a large number of Labour voters who are a) frustrated with a lack of progress with NZ First slowing things down (even though Labour is also a huge part of the problem) and b) can probably safely vote for someone else strategically safe in the knowledge that Jacinda isn't going to lose.

Having said that, a part of this a mess of the Greens' own making. They made such a fuss in opposition about benefit reform and bottled water plants but have acheived diddly squat, as well as saying for three years while Auckland Light Rail blew out into a farce despite one of their MPs have an associate transport portfolio.

Surely the more important question is which of you would win in a duel to the death, and how much could we make from the tickets?

Not helpful is being exceptionally generous.

Well, I will say now... Calling people "woke" to me sounds sarcastic and offensive. As in if you can't disagree with someone publicly you just call "woke!".

So let's stop with this bullshit around here.

Fair enough, though you have actually assisted their agenda of shutting people down who do not agree with them.

I aim to misbehave.
