If it descends to calling each other woke or mysoginist you've already lost the argument. You're just lashing out without having any argument.

freitasm: Well, I will say now... Calling people "woke" to me sounds sarcastic and offensive. As in if you can't disagree with someone publicly you just call "woke!".

So let's stop with this bull$s!t around here.

and calling people "Caveman" isn't? If you're going to police language, please be even handed. Or as I and I'm sure others would prefer, allow free speech as long as it doesn't include threats of harm etc.

I aim to misbehave.

Fair enough, though you have actually assisted their agenda of shutting people down who do not agree with them.

What's the difference between your name calling and theirs? It's all pathetic.

@ds9 we set the rules. We don't read all posts. Someone might report a post or an AI will email mods about a post. You have no idea if someone else was warned or not. So considered yourself warned.

The Perspective AI is out there. It can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are less toxic, one way or another.

If you disagree with someone and post evidence supporting your argument I will have no problem with it.

Calling people names or classifying people it's not what we accept here. In any case, some people have been excluded from the Politics sub-forum now.

In light of this, I feel I should apologise for the 'caveman' epithet. It was intended as a light-hearted rebuke, but was not meant to offend.

I genuinely believe there is a serious issue at stake here. Women have been treated like inferior beings for centuries in western culture, including our own. Things have greatly improved in recent years, but vestiges of the old mentality still cling on. Whether a woman is regarded as 'attractive' or not should not be a subject of public discussion, especially if the woman is a public figure in a leadership role. A woman's physical attributes, which is what the 'attractive' moniker hearkens to, have nothing to do with her abilities or character as a human being, and its use is demeaning, whether that is consciously intended or not. Men who do not appreciate this are acting in a misogynist manner, even if they don't realise it. This is what my comments were pointing out.

No-one would ever describe a male politician as 'handsome' or 'ugly' when discussing his qualities as a leader. What does that have to do with anything that matters? The same applies to females.

It is nice if someone opens doors for women. I hope they do the same for men.

It's disgraceful that the government are refusing to make Ashley Bloomfield available to the health select committee. Given that parliament is still sitting he should be subject to the oversight of the house.

Another great example of the most open and transparent government ever.

I’m not surprised. The epidemic response committee was a complete s..hshow where the opposition parties made a mockery of the whole process. If they hadn’t and continue to take the mickey like Gerry recently I would feel differently but the adults are working and there is no reason to waste his time with children.

I'd rather see him put 100% effort in to his job at the moment - rather than have to waste his time with politicised BS and daft questions which would better be directed at the Ministers concerned.

Lol. We have an adversarial parliamentary system. It's the oppositions job to challenge the government, they do not exist to be cheerleaders.

The "most open and transparent government ever" has been even worse than the Key government in their abuse of the OIA. That's ok though as you said so.

He's not to busy to appear in Labour Party campaign advertisements.

I'd agree, but it appears that he's been so politicised that he's even spending time to help create promotional material for the Labour Party, as shown in the first video on their Facebook page...
