I would have thought a second wave of the thing that warranted an emergency committee should warrant those people reappearing for it.

It also provides an outlet for information for the public to hear from other experts, rather than being entirely reliant on 1pm press conferences that waiver between casual updates and political rallies, depending on who is speaking.

He's not to busy to appear in Labour Party campaign advertisements.

Are you unaware that the time  to take a photo is measured in milliseconds?

Coronavirus and conspiratorial dog-whistles return to New Zealand

Trying to create conspiracy theory from sensible governance decisions is dumb.  I hoped you might be better than that.

I hoped that you might be better than hiding behind weak excuses of him not having time to answer for his departments performance - which of course is part of his core job.

I guess we are both disappointed.

Even though I have to admit I was wrong about Grant Robertson being a terrible minister of finance (he's been very conservative), this government is made up of student politicians (bordering on communist) and academics. I believe propaganda is in their nature (socialists) and that's what the 1pm 'news conference' has become.

I aim to misbehave.

I'd rather see him put 100% effort in to his job at the moment - rather than have to waste his time with politicised BS and daft questions which would better be directed at the Ministers concerned.

I'd agree, but it appears that he's been so politicised that he's even spending time to help create promotional material for the Labour Party, as shown in the first video on their Facebook page...

I just looked at the video.

So, AB was visible for about 1 second when the camera panned - at what looked like an official visit to the national contact tracing centre.

He probably should have been there.  Somebody should insist that he wears an "anon" moustache mask when he's working, to hide his face in case being visible doing his job makes him a political hack.

Communist by what definition? I guess I missed the equalisation of incomes, nationalisation of private assets, massive increased in taxation and the secret police.

It's a fairly typical third way government which has 95% commonality of core policy with national, not a Marxist cabal.

Parliament is still sitting do it's within the brief of the health select committee. They need to be allowed to do their job and ask uncomfortable questions. When the system is allowed to do its job it works rather well.

Weak excuses - ROFL.  Imagine how much time could be wasted answering daft questions from a select committee that looks like it's been made out of a bag of hammers.  Shane Reti is about the only person on that entire committee who'd have the brains to ask a sensible critical question.  Then you'd probably get the equivalent of parliamentary "patsy" questions" from government members - it's a glorious waste of (AB's) time.

That's 1 second more than any public servant should be in party political ads, he would have had the right to refuse, as would his boss, but there he is...

Do you seriously believe that the government refused as he doesn't have time? They refused as it is politically expedient for them not to have him appear.

In honesty I'd suspect it was a surprise to him that he was in the ad. The prime minister, and Bloomfield, get filmed pretty routinely.

He definitely shouldn't be in any campaign material.

There you go.  "I know (that's why they did it)".  True conspiracy theory stuff.

An irrefutable fact - unless you can back it up.  You do not know.

Today I learned that some people who post in political forums don't know the difference between "communism" and "socialism".

(actually I did know it - happens every 4 years around election time).

BS. Disagreeing with the actions of the government, and making a reasonable inference based on their action isn't a conspiracy theory. The government has previously refused media requests because "they didn't need to justify theirs actions." The government has previously refused to appear before the epidemic response committee, then made media dumps after previously refusing to produce documents. This is totally consistent behaviour.

You reaching for that card to justify poor government behaviour is laughable.
