The collective world is lucky that for most Americans Russia equal bad.

* over 30 years old have been fed a non-stop diet of Russian bad-guys in action movies.

* over 60 years old Russian = communism = bad

I shudder to think what would happen if Trump did not have an open bromance with Putin.

My point is Trump has seemed beyond Teflon coated; no crap seems to stick to him.

However the collective world may have found a viable weak point to attack: his bromance with Putin.

Every damned day - more lies, variations on the same lie, bolder lies:

Trump said Putin was "extremely strong and powerful in his denial" of Russian meddling, and added he didn't see a reason why it "would" be Russia.

From a WP opinion piece : We Knew Who Trump Was.

What has changed is that so many who insisted in 2016 that Trump was not as bad as he looked, that he was a pragmatist at heart, and that we should take him “seriously but not literally” have been forced to face the truth.

The truth is that Trump really does have what you might call a special relationship with Putin and Russia, for reasons still not fully known. He views foreign policy not as a way of protecting the nation but as an extension of his own narrow, personal interests.

More than a few people have posted in this thread "don't worry - he won't be able to xyz".  Wrong - he's doing it anyway, and slowly but surely working to destroy liberal democracy worldwide.

Im one of those. The talk was WW3 and so on. He has lost faith with other key countries, and many of his party. As to Putin, Putin probably has something over him, or he wants a true friend given that other leaders cant be bothered. Haven't seen the wall yet, nor the saviour health system. He goes on and on to back himself into a corner, but while he calls everything that suits, fake news, people arent stupid. Lets see how his votes hang in. He will lose some voters, many non voters will vote, I predict a high midterm turnout, which is opposite to the usual trend. He has barked a lot and bit little. Had the wall be under construction that would give him a helping hand, but nothing as often is the case. he is not even mid way through his term, and Im surprised he has done as little as he has. More talking and not much doing. Surprised he has riled other leaders as much as he has, they used to just laugh. Surprised he hasn't put many of his big plans in place, but as it turns out he just wants to be in campaign mode. But no WW3 looming, and before you know it he will be gone. Its likely GOP will be weaker after midterms, so the slide will ramp up.

Then he will be gone. A wasted 4 years, but the next leader will quickly repair the damage, and restore relationships. That will start happening when the final vote comes in. probably before as in 2020 DEMs and GOP will be singing the same song, Restoration.

Here we go:

That's the war he's building up to.  Except it won't be war in any conventional sense, it'll be the USA raining terror on the Iranian people - as punishment for them not being able to meet his demand for them to overthrow their leaders.

Threatening war via twitter - what a complete and uttter prize f$cking w*anker.

Trump knows that he's in trouble - it's Time for Action Man - he'll start a war that will appeal to his fan base, and distract them from his pathetic performance.

God help the Iranians.   undecided

Iran is reported to be signing a "friendship deal" with ASEAN nations in Singapore.

That's probably an additional reason why Trump is venting his spleen on twitter.

If he manages to get a war of any kind going, that will cement his re-election.

Has to be. Another friend(s) gone, as in them talking to Iran. Good proof.

Its not hard to imagine Iran toning down if it can make friends in Asia. Still take a hard line with the US, but who cares, he can improve their lot with his new ASEAN friends. The ASEAN nations must feel there is more to gain with Iran than complying with the US. Thats what happens when you get hated by your school friends, they go elsewhere.
