Regardless, why would any country stand quietly by whilst being threatened on a regular ongoing basis?

I may not agree with Trump, but I think most of the ME would be happy to see the hardline Mullah regime replaced.

The Americans did that once already, which is how things got to where they are now. Iranians should be the ones to decide how they want to be ruled.

As far as I know, no-one here has questioned the legitimacy of Trump's presidency, or the fact that he genuinely won the election. The discussion is about his personal qualities, and those of his supporters. He is a liar, a cheat, a moral bankrupt, an undeserving and tragic accident of history, possibly a disaster for the world, but he was duly elected according to laws of the United States. No-one questions that and that is what makes it so terrible.

The USA maybe needs to look again at The President's right to make Executive Orders.  When one man has the right to do so much without the checks and balances of government processes and procedures, it can't help but lead to situations like we see with Trump.  On the other hand, they say people get the government they deserve, and Trump was more or less elected.

I think this is a step too far. Until there's evidence and a resulting conviction, the circumstances under which Mussolini was captured and executed are very different.
