I understand where you are coming from but I think you are excessively sensitive about this. I and many others have also referred to Trump as a moron and an idiot, both of which would be banned in your universe. The basis of Trump's appeal is a rejection of excessive political correctness. There has to be an acceptable compromise here.

Also, it is somewhat ironic that you are springing to the defense of a repulsive individual in a position of power who has made a point of publicly mocking and humiliating someone with a physical disability, and also repeatedly makes fun of people's appearances. Calling him senile is mild compared to the insults he dishes out.

Yes I am sensitive to those with disablilities, over sensitive no I am not. As for the highlighted, two wrongs do not equal a right.

Everyone here will know how I feel about Donald Trump. I have no regard whatsoever for his intelligence or capabilities. Like many, I see his Twitter fumblings and vague verbal ramblings as hopeful signs of incipient dementia. Sometimes I wonder if he even knows where he is.

Yet there seems to be a different Donald Trump on the campaign trail. As much as I hate to admit it, he comes across in his rallies as energetic and focussed. His manner is forceful and his delivery precise. There is no hesitation or digression at all. He knows exactly what he is saying and he says it very well. It is like they have found a younger clone for him.

Has anyone else noticed this? Trump is maintaining a pretty gruelling schedule yet it seems to be having little effect on him. Has he sold his soul to the devil? Is he sucking up the thumos of his audiences? Maybe, in this moment of need, he is finally lifting a little of the carefully-concealed lid on his true self?

It's the difference between when he stays on script compared to when he wings it. His team knows he does far better when he sticks to prepared speeches, and they will have drummed this in this close to the election.

They all still do. The trick is who didn't vote last time will they vote this time, and that answer is a clear yes. But some or many? The coloured population you would expect will be out in force.

He also claimed he was right in 2000. Specifically about Nader and Florida. Supposedly he was working with Nader's team and saw the polling. He wanted to reach out to Gore's team for Nader to endorse Gore in exchange for some policy concessions. This idea was rejected by the Green leadership as most assumed Gore had it in the bag and wanted to maintain some independence.

Whatever the outcome of the midterm elections, this we already know: President Trump will do anything to win.
He will exaggerate. He will lie. He will smear his opponents.
He will stoke racism, white nationalism and fear of immigration, and he will do any of these things because his entire ideology comes down to this: He will not be a loser.

The worst is yet to come.

America is about to enter the most dangerous period in its 242-year-old history.
Soon we will know if the House of Representatives has been captured by a justifiably vengeful Democratic Party seeking to block Trump at every turn, and possibly impeach him.
The president will fight back, not recognizing any distinction between his political survival and that of the nation. ...

How will Trump react if cornered? Certainly not in a mature, statesmanlike fashion. More likely, he will be on a permanent rolling boil.
He will obsess about impeachment and about being defeated for a second term.
He would then go down as a one-term president, becoming the one thing he cannot abide: a loser.
He will do anything to avoid that outcome.

I am not into superstition. My influence on US election like most Kiwis is zero.

In the last few years trends have meant nothing and the trend for the sitting Potus party losing seats in the Capital may well be reversed and the Republicans could not only hold their majority but increase it.
