And the usual suspects chime in.

Last time I checked, *you* are one of the usual suspects, and *you* are *also* chiming in.
Why is it you feel we can't criticise the Government for failing to deliver yet again on campaign promises?
We have heard it all before. Again and again and again. Try coming up with something new.

We have heard everything you say, again and again and again. So what? If they keep breaking promises, then they should be critisized again and again and again.

The problem in your case, from the vantage point of this guy who is not massively fond of the execution of this government (who nonetheless also absolutely cannot stand the opposition), is how you contribute almost nothing but attacking one-liners where you pepper words like "
disgraceful" left, right and centre and show an alarming lack of self-awareness in respect of your own very obvious political biases and leanings.

Yeah, funny how when you mention being "unaware" you seem to miss the fact you are guilty of most if not all of the exact same behaviours. When was the last time you had something insightful to say about the government? Usually you are just critisizing/attacking others.

I live in North West Auckland.
The road is gridlocked from 630am.
There are thousands of new houses going in on that same road in the next five years.
You can run all the interference and be as dismissive as you want, but this has an impact on my quality of life and I reserve the right to be pissed about it being used for bait and switch politics.

Here is the statement you made a few posts back that prompted my own remark:
"I don't think they will deliver on a single flagship policy. It's disgraceful."
This is unsubstantiated opinion. It doesn't add anything. It is almost, or entirely, identical to numerous other statements you have made. How does this offer any solutions to anything?

I wasn't specifically referring to that and I haven't studied the issue but if what you say is true, then you probably have every right to be pissed.

So far they have substantially pared back or broken a substantial number of promises they made. That's fact. They have been outlined previously by me and others here. You don't like hearing it, which is fine, but it doesn't make it any less true. As I have mentioned many times before, you are welcome to show evidence that they have improved things (How are those child poverty numbers by the way?), just the same way.
I have predicted a fair number of these things reasonably accurately.
What does "and the usual suspects chime in" add to the tone of the conversation? You can't claim the moral high ground on quality posting when you yourself post that way.
There are real world impacts to every day Kiwi's of the broken promises as per @gv27. Just because none of the broken promises directly affect you, doesn't mean they aren't broken promises that upset others.
Nothing posted here is solution based, it's opinion and occasional posting of facts. The only effective way to have an impact on the results is during the election. If your logic is that any post here that doesn't make a difference to the end result should be not posted, why even have a forum for discussing it here at all.

My logic is that just repeatedly saying the government is disgraceful doesn't really move the discussion forward. I happen to disagree with you on a number of fundamentals. You (and others) keep howling about all the 'broken promises'. What I see is that at least there are promises. I believe this government recognises important issues in society that the nine-year National-led governments largely ignored and neglected and maybe intentionally tried to hide. I see a government that is trying to make real changes, but due to lack of experience did not comprehend the magnitude of the problems or what would be required. I also see a government that has made a lot of dumb mistakes but I don't need to go into those. I'm sure you have a list.
I believe we have a government that recognises the issues and is trying to make a difference. I think it is improving with time. I don't see broken promises. I see a failure to fully appreciate what the solutions entail. I see good intentions. I see a government I still prefer to National.

Promises without delivery, no matter how "well intentioned", are fairy tales.
How can you in one breath say it's ok for Labour to not deliver on it's promises, and then smash National for not delivering on what they supposedly promised (Hit rate in my view was much higher under National even if the specific promises didn't light your particular birthday candles).
Both parties were recognizing similar things at the last election. There is only so much money, and each party will prioritize what it's core values and supporters want. National provided good financial management that has allowed Labour to go on their spending spree. One promised to deliver much higher than the other and so far hasn't delivered (and I believe won't based on what has been delivered and spoken about to date).
In my view, National recognised the majority of the same issues with NZ that Labour did, just didn't claim it was an easy fix, which resulted in poor policy building based on average at best and negligent at worst, investigations into costs and resource requirements.
More strikes coming! Yay.

There are facts and there are interpretations. I don't think we disagree on the facts, but we put different interpretations on them. I am sure the next Labour government (and there will be one) will do better, especially without being hobbled by NZ First.

Wouldn't be happening if National had done a better job.
