To be fair, most of his screwing up has been mouth based. He hasn't actually done much, just mouthing off.

His tariffs have been a major own goal, with federal assistance packages required to bail out affected industries such as soy farmers. And compound that with the Government shutdown, which means this assistance can't be accessed.

I didn't say he hasn't done anything. He has been there two years with a raft of things he will do, and largely its been talk. Removal from some agreements they will be reversed. Trade tariffs will be reversed. The shutdown is recent, it cannot last too long. There is the muslim ban, gone. There is the families at the border, gone. There is the wall, never started, has not been planned, will not happen. Meeting with KJU, waste of time, nothing happened. We do have the removal from Syria, but as usual, the military have stated they will move out unless there is an issue, another Trump easy out to avoid a fail.

In the early days it was WW3. Two years down the track his rifle is firing plastic bullets

Oh yes he has done some serious damage:

The US can no longer be trusted to honour agreements.  Decisions made by the idiot may be able to be reversed, but the US electorate has shown itself to be capable of electing a prize idiot and scumbag, and unless there's electoral reform, they could do it again.

Trump has appointed unqualified partisan judges to the appellate and district courts. That will endure - take decades to undo.

The US is dangerously divided. It's delusional to think that the demise of Trump at the polls will be accepted by the morons who are part of his cult.  Look at how they treated Obama - when their main issue was that he wasn't white.  The next POTUS (if a Democrat and in 2020) will be treated as if he/she is the anti-christ.

Trump's sabotage of the global environmental protection movement (by the world's largest polluter) is simply unforgivable.

There's plenty of time for GFC II to commence between now and 2020.

+1  Agreed on all points.

Trump is VERY good at breaking things and rabble-rousing, but seems to be totally incapable of doing anything useful or constructive.

The last two years of Trump vandalism and corruption will take at least 20 years to repair.

I shudder to think what he will "achieve" in the next two years.

Putin could not have asked for more - he has the perfect "useful idiot" under his influence.

Its a far cry from WW3 which was the major concern when he was elected. The US has become more isolated, laughed at, and scoffed. The US didn't vote in a scumbag, they voted in change, and got ripped off for 4 years, that's easily reversed. The Paris Accord, with US support was not going g to be making huge strides if they stayed in, as US, China etc are selfish. So, the effect will be minimal and the IS will rejoin when norma service is resumed in 2020 when whoever is POTUS rewinds what Trump has done to the US. GFC is due anyway, Trump or no Trump.

All I'm saying is that he has been an impotent POTUS, all talk and little action

The New York Times - Michael Cohen Acknowledges Payments to Doctor Online Polls for Trump

Jan. 17, 2019

Michael D. Cohen, the former personal lawyer and fixer for President Trump, acknowledged on Thursday that he had paid the owner of a technology services company to help doctor results of an online poll to help Mr. Trump as he considered a run for president.

In a post on Twitter about his actions, first reported by The Wall Street Journal, Mr. Cohen said that he had done so at the direction of Mr. Trump, and regretted it.

The Journal reported that in early 2015, before Mr. Trump declared himself a candidate for president, Mr. Cohen gave $12,000 to $13,000 in cash stuffed in a Walmart bag to John Gauger, the owner of RedFinch Solutions, who also works for Liberty University. The money was in exchange for help boosting Mr. Trump’s name in two online polls.

Mr. Cohen was supposed to pay Mr. Gauger $50,000 for the work, the man told The Journal, but the full amount was never paid out. However, Mr. Cohen billed the Trump Organization $50,000 for technology services, according to federal prosecutors in Manhattan, who referenced the amount in a charging document. ...

The NY Times - Trump Hits Back at Pelosi, Threatening Her Trip to See Troops

Jan. 17, 2019

WASHINGTON - President Trump retaliated on Thursday against Speaker Nancy Pelosi for threatening to cancel his planned State of the Union address, announcing that he, in turn, was postponing an overseas trip she had planned with a congressional delegation that he described as a “public relations event.”

“I am sorry to inform you that your trip to Brussels, Egypt and Afghanistan has been postponed,” Mr. Trump wrote in a letter addressed to Ms. Pelosi. “We will reschedule this seven-day excursion when the shutdown is over.” ...

Pelosi probably wouldn't want to leave Washington during the shutdown anyway.   wink

Pelosi: 1; Trump: 0

I retract.

Pelosi was in a US Air Force bus on the way to the airport when Trump obstructed her departure.

Trump's timing was perfect and malicious. ...

freitasm: Trump directed Cohen to lie to Congress.

Blessed day!

Trump Directed Cohen To Lie To Congress. Mueller learned this through interviews with multiple witnesses from Trump Organization & internal company emails, text messages, & a cache of other documents.

So this isn't "Cohen says - Trump says".

Nixon Articles of Impeachment #3 "...counselling witnesses with respect to the giving of false or misleading statements to lawfully authorized investigative officers.....and false or misleading testimony in duly instituted judicial and congressional proceedings"

Lock Him Up.

The Nixon Article quote seems to be something that can be re-used for Trump without any modification. Could save lawyer time!

The good news is flights to Mar-a-lago are still operating.
