BREAKING NEWS -

The Washington Post - In a rare move, Mueller’s office denies BuzzFeed report that Trump told Cohen to lie about Moscow project

January 18 at 9:00 PM

Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s office on Friday denied an explosive report by BuzzFeed News that his investigators had gathered evidence showing President Trump directed his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, to lie to Congress about a prospective business deal in Moscow.

BuzzFeed’s description of specific statements to the special counsel’s office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen’s congressional testimony are not accurate,” said Peter Carr, a spokesman for Mueller.

The statement was remarkable on several levels - first, the special counsel’s office speaks exceedingly rarely, and second, the statement seemed to drive a stake through a sensational allegation that Democratic lawmakers suggested earlier in the day could spell the end of the Trump presidency.

As earthshaking as the claims in the story were, no other media organizations were able to match them. ..

The plot thickens ...

I have no idea what happened but my guess would be that Buzzfeed found out something but tripped up Mueller by publishing it prematurely so his office is trying to regain control. I don't think this is the end of it.

The continued existence of this man beggars belief.

I'll put this out there, something that has pondered my thoughts for a while, its complicated. A group of nations, NZ included, 20 or so first world nations, need to step up. And say you are crap, or words to that effect. To say you are crap, your country isnt, but you are. To date, he has had a free ride, everyone is silent, that needs to change.

This is the diversion, amongst many other diversions. It was a great meeting, really great, it was. This will be my legacy amongst many others.

Honestly I don't think Trump has the ability to think strategically enough to create a diversion.

I think Trump is a spoiled mentally needy easily distracted brat.

He's gotten bored with the whole "government shutdown" thing.

Trump want affirmations of his superiority from a another immoral delusion brat.

Fox News's Latest Contribution to Our Bizarro World: This Dude Calling to Disband the FBI

We have stumbled through the looking glass many times and in many ways in this era of Donald Trump, American president. Our fearless leader does not seem to hold many fixed views beyond the idea Donald Trump ought to have more money and people ought to say nice things about him on the teevee. As a result, he can often go shooting down the rabbit hole in a spasm of self-interest, particularly as he sinks deeper into grave legal peril. His Republican allies, eager to prove their loyalty to El Jefe—and, more importantly, The Base they need to keep reelecting them in their gerrymandered districts—often launch themselves after him, only to find themselves at dinner with the Mad Hatter.

Seldom has our new bizarro world been on show like it was Monday night on The Fox News Channel. Various Republicans have, for months now, taken to attacking the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the nation's most powerful law-enforcement organization that they once thought very honorable indeed. Not anymore, you see: ihe FBI has been investigating The Leader, including, according to The New York Times this weekend, exploring whether Trump might be a Russian asset after he fired FBI Director James Comey. El Jefe has, in turn, been attacking the FBI.

So it's time for the various freakish fauna of the netherworld to really blossom.

(Leave aside, for the moment, this scene from Fox News: Sean Hannity, who long covered up that he shared a lawyer with the president—Michael Cohen, now headed to federal prison for three years—and who is one of the president's main advisers—but rarely discloses this conflict-of-interest to his viewers—is playing host to a Legal Analyst who wrote a book called The Russia Hoax. Also featured: Mark Meadows of the far-right Freedom Caucus and Mark Penn, the former Clinton adviser whose job now seems to be to go on Fox News to concern-troll Democrats about moving too far left. There really isn't even a pretense that what's being discussed is what is actually happening out in reality. Everyone, including viewers, likely prefers it that way.)

On the other hand you are talking about the president of the United States an office able and now likely to destroy trade treaties and other agreements.

Trump appears to be trying to offer a 'compromise' to the Democrats. It is a characteristically mean-spirited one, and not one the Democrats will accept, but it seems to indicate that he is starting to crack. His fervent supporters will not like any kind of compromise, however limited, so he must be feeling the pressure.

Yes, and the global powers sit there and watch. While its clearly correct for us all to criticise him, other countries who also populate this world aren't doing anything. About the most Ive heard are that a country does not support nationalism, yet they don't mention the US.

Trump can and does destroy trade treaties. Thats a two edged sword. China is now sourcing most of its soy from Brazil, so while the US-China trade with soy is being destroyed, it has been replaced by another trade deal between two friendly countries that want to cooperate and get ahead. More of that please

Yes, he is cracking. With anything, it seems.

QUOTE Trump had indicated for weeks that he would not entertain an extension of DACA, which began in 2012 under President Obama and has offered renewable work permits to immigrants, known as “Dreamers,” who entered the country illegally as children.END OF QUOTE

He has been saying DEMs won't negotiate but DEMS said once the shutdown has ended they will negotiate re the wall. Trump says he will negotiate but all he does is the the same non changing deal. Its good that he is now "negotiating", when DEMs decline he can blame them.
