Almost none of Labours Caucus have ever held private sector jobs or run businesses. I believe this is how they came up with their employment policies, just NO clue as to what the real world impact would be.

 

 

 

 

Bit of a slippery slope line of argument. The large majority of National MPs are multiple homeowners/grew up with a silver spoon etc etc. and have NO clue as to what the hundreds of thousands living in damp/cold/mouldy housing / poverty etc etc.

 

But then you have someone like Paula Bennett who was on the benefit and ended up shunting povvos into motels rather than doing anything effective.. so figure that one out hmm...

 

Right, well how would you have her deal with it. You understand there aren't enough houses? Would you have her magic up some? I mean it's not ideal, but it's certainly better than sleeping in a car. It has a bit of a flow on effect in terms of improving hotel occupancy rates as well, which is a small side benefit. I disagree that most National MP's were born with a silver spoon in their mouths. Some might have been. Why is owning multiple properties a bad thing? 

I do agree that National needs to do more socially, they will, it's been talked about all election (same as Labour). It will never be enough for some people, but I hope for some meaningful improvement over the next 3 years.
