A lot of jumping to conclusions considering no-one knows yet what is actually in the report. Maybe we should just wait until the summary is released to Congress.

... and according to US media, that will NOT happen today.

The Washington Post - Mueller did not find evidence the Trump campaign conspired with Russia, attorney general says

March 24 at 3:51 PM

Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III did not find that Donald Trump’s campaign or any of his associates conspired with Russia in its efforts to interfere in the 2016 election, according to a summary of Mueller’s findings sent to lawmakers Sunday.

“The Special Counsel’s investigation did not find that the Trump campaign or anyone associated with it conspired or coordinated with Russia in its efforts to influence the 2016 U.S. presidential election,” the four-page summary by Attorney General William P. Barr said.

On the question of whether the president might have sought to obstruct the high-profile investigation, Mueller’s team did not offer a definitive answer.

The Special Counsel ... did not draw a conclusion - one way or the other - as to whether the examined conduct constituted obstruction,” the Barr letter said.

The Special Counsel states that ‘while this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him,” the letter said.

The highly anticipated summary of Mueller’s investigation was sent to Congress on Sunday. ...

What an anti-climax - a fine example of political fence-sitting by Barr.

Donald will love it.

As I read it, the letter pretty much exonerates Trump from any collusion or obstruction of justice charges. Of course this isn't the end of the matter but some here (me!) will be disappointed. No doubt the Trump camp will be loudly cheering.

The New York Times - Mueller Finds No Trump-Russia Conspiracy but Stops Short of Exonerating President on Obstruction of Justice

March 24, 2019

WASHINGTON — The investigation led by Robert S. Mueller III found that neither President Trump nor any of his aides conspired or coordinated with the Russian government’s 2016 election interference, according to a summary of the special counsel’s findings made public on Sunday by Attorney General William P. Barr.

Mr. Barr also said that Mr. Mueller’s team drew no conclusions about whether Mr. Trump illegally obstructed justice.

Mr. Barr and the deputy attorney general, Rod J. Rosenstein, concluded that the special counsel’s investigators lacked sufficient evidence to establish that Mr. Trump committed that offense, but added that Mr. Mueller’s team stopped short of exonerating Mr. Trump. ...

Fence-sitting.

Just when you thought there was at least one man who wouldn't fold, and that justice would prevail, we get that letter.

The smaller fish got fried but the puppet master escapes (to mix a metaphor).

I put my head out the door and I can hear the MAGA calls and Yahoos from here.
