So what do we think is Putin's endgame here? I'm thinking he wants to annex parts of Ukraine. Also, perhaps smash the Ukrainian govt and install a Russia-friendly govt.

Thoughts?

To avoid Ukraine going to NATO, and thereby being un takeoverable

Bring back the people to Russia

Bring back Ukraine to Russia and its production. They do machinery and food, handy to add that to Russia's oil and gas

Get back to the pre Cold War days of the empire that Putin is obsessed over. He did a 57 minute speech the other day, it was emotional and anger, all about the empire. Its like the big kid getting sh1tty over Monopoly

100%. The speech he did was all about the hurt of 1991 it seems, so its very irrational. Then you have dictatorship that doesnt have the bother of the people, so he like KJU just goes ahead

New Cold War, this wont resolve itself over time, its back to West vs Russia, with China on the sidelines saying use diplomacy....

Ukraine Government reporting 137 killed on their side, including civilians and 800 RU soliders KIA so far... sounds like the Russians are taking a hammering

Well you don't have to shell the plant, just have your actions set fire to some of the forest.
Disturb the dust on the ground and such.

Certainly the fire crews that protect the area can't operate under present conditions I expect.

Tks for the update, as shelling it would be stupid and irrational, which is where the aggressor is (Putin, not Russia)

Wondering what will heppen tommorow to Zelensky. The usual execution, or passively arrest him? Troops are 20 miles from Kiev
