https://newrepublic.com/post/187278/harris-trump-defense-democracy-2024

Interesting read - and good to see Harris (finally) hitting the orange buffoon where it hurts him the most: his poor, wounded ego:

It’s also clear that this coverage is annoying Trump as well: At Wednesday’s Fox town hall event (in which Trump was peppered with questions from an audience of what seemed to be Republican organizers cosplaying as undecided voters), Trump was asked about his recent “enemy from within” remarks, and he offered a petulant response. “You know what they are,” he groused about the Democrats complaining about his rhetoric. “They’re a party of sound bites.” The man truly does not like having his own words read back to him. But it’s an easy way to bait him—and as Harris demonstrated during the debate, baiting Trump is a time-tested way to throw him off his game.

The old British tradition of the Rotten Borough returns.

All for a corrupt crook Trump, so what does that make Musk.

Not only are you likely to favor someone that has given you money.
You have passed on all your contact details to enter this lottery.
They can bury you in a flood of propaganda, for,
and with social networks to feeds to your friends.

Its only valid for swing states, so identifying the exact target voters you want.

Thing is, they're only really going to get Trump voters who can be bothered to turn up to a rally.

How many Democrats (or undecided voters - of which there are very few) are going to go to one? They're basically giving money to their own team, IMO.

Quickymart. Don't underestimate.

'Free money' will draw in a wide swathe, and give them a direct pipeline to influence those that are confused sitting in the middle.
Something like 40% of Americans don't regularly vote.
If it only takes 1% to swing a swing state its not a lot.

Its highly targeted.
They can just knaw away at that one thing Trump or Musk might do for you.
While siloing you away in the torrent of social media from the disaster Trump is.
Cambridge Analytica ++

Its Americans.
There are interviews where people struggle to name a country on their border, how many states make up the USA, and who fought in the Civil War. Though could name every Kardashian.
Most don't have passports and may not know there is a world outside their state apart from evil feral Californians.

True, but I'm still skeptical this would pull in enough numbers to make a difference to the final result. I agree with you to a point, but I don't think this is going to suddenly turn millions of voters in Trump's direction.

While Musk is giving US$100 to sign his petition and US$1,000,000 prize every day for one lucky person.. it is now illegal in Georgia to give water to anyone standing in line to vote, and lines will be long.

NBC News: Since 2021, SB 202 — also known as the Election Integrity Act — has made it illegal in Georgia for anyone to hand a hot or thirsty person a bottle of water while standing in line to vote. Those participating at Saturday’s rally cited SB 202 as one of many “inhumane laws that attempt to suppress the vote for Black and brown people,” said Nicole Carty, the executive director of Get Free, a Gen Z- and millennial-led movement that focuses on social justice. “It is so visibly dehumanizing to actually criminalize such an act of humanity and dignity,” she said. “It really exemplifies the broader inhumanity and inequality of all these voter laws that are happening.” Carty added: “It’s not just about not being able to hand out water. Many of the most insidious components of these anti-voter laws are deep in the bureaucracy and Jim Crow. So, we’re using it to shine a light on what is dehumanizing about these laws.”

From CNN:

https://edition.cnn.com/2024/10/20/politics/mcdonalds-donald-trump-pennsylvania/index.html

I think if he was serving me I'd ask for someone else...I certainly don't think I'd want to even touch food that's been his...harrassing hands 😣

Although...

https://edition.cnn.com/2024/10/20/politics/trump-wild-lewd-rhetoric-analysis/index.html

This is quite worrying - he used to knock Joe for (apparently) being senile, but he's hardly holding it together himself!

Also:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/the-threat-remains-trump-s-path-to-overturning-a-2024-defeat/ar-AA1sAknX?cvid=2e6ce1c5820343a2c45ad5fee8f6bc3f&ei=14

This is absolutely concerning - this story takes a look all the possible paths the orange buffoon could take in the event he loses again to try and regain power. I guess the only thing is this time around (compared to 2020) he doesn't have the military, etc he can call on to do his thug work for him.

Trump was in Phoenix Arizona, trying to appeal to Mexican-American voters and similar.

Shortly before his arrival, there were these milestones. In American units, it had 113 days reaching above 100 F / 38 C

The local hospital had many people with second and third degree burns from touching pavement, or sun heated cars. There were 300 heat related deaths minimum. Lastly there's a serious drought going on.

Trump in Phoenix : "In my administration, I had the cleanest air on record. and yet I didn't destroy jobs. I had the most jobs of any administration ever. I also have the cleanest water, crystal clean. We have the cleanest water, the cleanest air. I always feel that with the climate, and I have been a great environmentalist. I have built many things. I owned a rail [sic] next-door and we did that in a very -- I get awards, environmental awards are the way I build, for the water, the way I use the water, the sand, the mixing of the sand and of the water.

The real global warming we have to worry about is nuclear. The water is coming up and they're worried about an quarter of an inch -- eighth of an inch over 300 years, the ocean is going to rise and nobody knows if that's true or not but they are worried about the ocean rising in eighth of an inch or quarter of an inch and 300 years. I'm worried about nuclear weapons. "

I can image Trump: "Yeah, that’s her. With the golden arches. I better use some Tic Tacs just in case I start kissing her. You know, I’m automatically attracted to beautiful burgers — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.

Grab ’em by the poppyseeds. You can do anything.

Oh, it looks good."

What gets me is the level of stupid in all these Trump stunts.

So this is meant to prove Kamala 'never worked at a McDonalds' as possibly millions of young Americans have over the years.

How does this prove that? What kind of logic is operating here.?
This seemed to get insanely deep under Trumpicans skins.

Its not like geriatric Trump had to turn up on time for various shifts day after day and meet performance targets constantly. For minimum wage, which in USA can be pretty minimum.

Still does this prove a young Kamala would not have worked at a McDonalds ?
Trump really jealous that someone had a real minimum wage job, vs his seemingly bought qualifications
( He has fought hard to ensure the University never releases his record ).

Seems almost to mirror Donald, his father Fred, and possibly his sister, driving Fred Jr to self destruction over becoming an airline pilot, a skill, especially those days with basic technology, vs degrees and honors easily bought for right donations to University.
