Life In Russia Under Sanctions | 4 Months: Ghost Shopping Malls, Dying Businesses, Personal Low

If you hate crowds then it seems a good time, not so great if you are paying rent on the shop though
Of course he can't say certain things directly, that would be very dangerous.
Price comparisons are tricky as Ruble is not freely traded, so exchange quite artificial.
In another article there was talk of 40% rise in price of things like butter, and the pack sizes decreasing.

Truck and bus production in May fell by nearly 40% and 6.5%, respectively, compared with May 2021.

All going to plan really.
Good. While thats not great for Russians (irregardless if they see Putin as God or not), its replicated for Ukraine citizens excessively and its replicated by billions of others. EU, everyone else re inflation and fuel prices and by third world countries with likely famine. So I have no sympathy for Russians that struggle to find Maccas's or who have to walk
nobody is able to do anything to Russia it seems.
the west are running out of missiles to give to Ukraine
sanctions don't seem to be affecting russia, if anything they now own more intellectual and physical property!
there is no reason for him to stop
You're not wrong. Sanctions hurt his people, thats ok apparently. He has his money supply still rolling in. Its clear the West don't want to get too close, so he is being given a wide berth to continue his war. He also doesnt seem to care about levelling Ukraine so its 100% his desire, not also an acquisition of wheat and steel. Its just about the Atlas
Yeh... Putin, cabinet and patriarch will only stop when they hit a hard limit of their capability.
Seems Russia has fully embraced the Necromonger code, "You keep what you kill"
The Russian Orthadox Church under KGB-Krill is all in, book burning is back in fashion.
How evangelical of them.

Its 17th century again.
1622 - the order of Tsar Michael, at the suggestion of the Moscow Patriarch Filaret, to burn in the state all copies of the Teaching Gospel printed in Ukraine by K. Stavrovetsky
1690 - condemnation and anathema of the Council of the Russian Orthodox Church on the "Kyiv new books" of P. Mohyla, K. Stavrovetsky, S. Polotsky, L. Baranovich, A. Radzivilovsky and others
1720 - decree of Peter I on the prohibition of printing in the Ukrainian language and on the removal of Ukrainian texts from church books
It strikes me that Putin has a new lease of life on this now. I guess the West hoped that sanctions would slow him right down, but perhaps BRICS support is huge, and he sees support fatigue as more global citizens get affected. Maybe a deal where he gets the East and South and whats left of Ukraine is fast tracked to NATO. Then he finds his next target which the West may or may not be keen on repeating all of this. Time to unpack the Iron Curtain to cover the next few decades
If he hangs in there long enough and Trump gets re-elected he can have a go for the whole of Europe.

Uh, no? France is #3 or #4 in the world and has always had its own nuclear weapons not under US control - about 300 at the moment. Besides, the EU cards are being reshuffled anyway due to the UK's indisposition and Putin's ego trip.

I watch this guy's videos , partly to hear how he butchers the names of his patreon supporters.
In this one he talks about the HIMARS (sp?) rocket system. It's accurate and outranges Russian artillery. But Ukraine was only given a handful , you say?
Ukraine has been using them to target Russian artillery ammo dumps. There's some very big bangs in the video.
Most of the posters in this thread are just like chimpanzees on MDMA, full of feelings of bonhomie, joy, and optimism. Fred99 8/4/21

I believe they got 6 initially from the US, plus something like 14 M270s (they mount the same systems, but on a tracked base instead of a truck - 2x packs of 6, but slower on open roads) and more are to come. Unlike the Russian artillery these can be targeted on the move, stopped, fired and moving again within a few minutes. And as they are so accurate, you don't need to fire 500 of them to get the job done.
That said, yes, they do need to be a bit selective on what they target with them as they aren't available in huge numbers anywhere.

As everyone knows, a rat will bite if cornered - in any case as ultima ratio. Unless they have also secretly hawked the nuclear missile parts to souvenir hunters. ;-)
