"He’s finished, done, gone. He polls terrible. People hate him,” said a GOP operative who was granted anonymity to speak frankly. “He'd go to Wisconsin thinking he can buy people's votes, wear the cheese hat, act like a 9-year-old. ... It doesn't work. It's offensive to people."

Elon is indeed fading from the White House (yay!). Just a pity about all the damage he's leaving behind 😠

Sadly.
The articles about Elon Musk being finished are probably a bit if not a lot, too much.

Elon is never the best witness for his own actions and intentions.
Even outrageously cheating in video games to talk about how much of a gaming savant he is.

Elon has astounding wealth.
Even if he slips from no1 to no10 its still tremendous power.
That huge gift of Tesla stock is poised to compensate.
Techbros, can also backstop him with investment in his business, to Russian connected relatives of Oligarchs.

He still needs to have influence over the Whitehouse to assure his contracts and more Government money.
Midterms still more than a year away, so just cruise along for a bit and rebuild the fan base.

The 250M or maybe much more dark money he spent getting Trump elected is still a fraction of what he could spend.
Amortized over 4 years of gifts from Trump and GOP that pay well into future for his 'Boys from Brazil' next generation.

With Trump in his pocket, SpaceX can get more Government business, subsidies, research grants, gifts of NASA, DARPA funded IP etc.
His business are very well placed in areas of Government spending despite him being a anti Government spending crusader for everyone else.
There is the DODGE data, Elon will be 'camping' that treasure trove.

He can play Tony Stark, while being 'Dark MAGA' in the background until the next round.

He is currently busy building his own town of ‘Starbase’ (its real name) in Texas and usurping public rights.

Meanwhile, his brainchild the Cybertruck absolutely bombs:

https://electrek.co/2025/05/18/tesla-starts-accepting-cybertruck-trade-ins-confirms-insane-depreciation/

Tesla has started accepting Cybertruck trade-ins, something that wasn’t the case more than a year after deliveries of the electric pickup truck started.

We are starting to see why Tesla didn’t accept its own vehicle as a trade-in: the depreciation is insane.

What's with all these lame FB posts, what's the scam - check all the comments from different fake-Musk accounts. Sadly some idiots think it's really him.

Elon Musk

"I’m a free speech absolutist."

"I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter, because that is what free speech means."

"Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square."

"Twitter will be forming a content moderation council with widely diverse viewpoints. No major content decisions or account reinstatements will happen before that council convenes."

"I’d rather be sued by Twitter shareholders and lose than give up free speech."

"I'd prefer to lose money for free speech than be censored."

A Tesla worker knew his anti-Elon Musk website was a risk. He did it anyway: Business Insider

A Tesla salesworker, Matthew LaBrot, was fired after he published a website protesting Elon Musk.

LaBrot said he grew frustrated by Musk's political involvement and its impact on Tesla sales.

The carmaker has recently faced slumping sales, mass protests, and a brand crisis.

I see the problem there. Website. LaBrot would have been perfectly ok if he published the same thing on Twitter instead, right?

While Musk’s methods may drive short-term compliance, research and real-world examples show that „leading by Angst“ ultimately backfires, reducing morale, fostering resentment and leading to high turnover. But from my perspective great leaders don’t demand productivity, they inspire it by fostering trust, empowerment and a sense of purpose.

Something Elon doesn't like at all and fights against. X had asked to partner, but they were not granted a stage for fascist performances. 😁

3D - they fight against D)isinformation, D)eep fakes and D)ystopias. Even my streaming system manufacturer supports them (and numerous German and EU state and public institutions).

Elon Musk is set to depart the Trump administration and leave his role as a "special government employee," a White House official told ABC News. The White House will begin Musk's off-boarding Wednesday night, the official said.

I wonder if he's actually going because he's less important to the orange buffoon now that the election is all over...or is it maybe because of this (very public) criticism?

Imo this stage managed departure is entirely for show and is intended to stem Tesla's decline. The ongoing damage to Tesla is immense and is clearly unsustainable. The damage to SpaceX is harder to know because it is not a consumer product.
