Silly?

"The man objected to Justice Peters' question to substitute Ardern for Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield, who enacted the lockdown order."

Axe to grind methinks

Remarkable that he wasn't sectioned, sedated and carted away to suitable accommodation wearing a tight white jacket.

that  is a really bad article, if you read the one Stuff did there is a little more to it  but legally they dont have a leg to stand on.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

especially bad because of the repetitive crap the herald puts in between but I didn't see the stuff one available when I posted

Though even I could tell they didn't have a leg to stand on from the nzh article

It does reek of haste, inaccuracy, closed mindedness, and all the rest of it doesn't it

you can tell the Herald considers the whole thing is a joke, but the men do have valid points or the Judge would have just thrown the whole case out without considering it.

You reckon? I think they just have to be careful and not dismiss it too quickly or they'll end up causing more trouble. They'll be entertaining them so they get the verdict and it sticks I personally think

Saying things like "9 isn't even a statistic" without context is a valid point, but it loses it's validity when we realise we've actually been in more of a precautionary lockdown than one resulting from huge spiralling numbers of deaths like some other countries. I also don't see why she (or Tindall) would want to ruin the economy?

When the article about more charged for breaching went out yesterday there was a dude with 4 'firends' and what looked to be a rather BS 2nd trouble maker profile. Quite openly spouting how being pulled over is a breach of the bill of rights (detained without sufficient evidence) and freedom to move within NZ

And the whole lockdown was a sham outside of it breaching that. Funny how most are compliant and not questioning. The Health Act has been around longer than the Bill of rights was written up.

Clearly these 2 are in the same team.

I can't wait to read the judge's decision. Rip 'em a new one, I reckon. But as @snnet said above they'll be wanting to make sure the legal reasoning is tight so that they don't end up causing more trouble.

I reckon the applicants are suing for false imprisonment because can't sue for access to a tinny house.
