Saw an ad on the back of a bus last night.
Forgot to look up their website.

Will be good when it can replace the old bus card.

Not sure if its possible but with smartphones using NFC (e.g. the Galaxy S II) is it possible to have a snapper app and use our phones?

Is this something snapper are considering?

When will Ritchies and Northstar etc buses be supporting snapper?

It doesn't look like you can use Snapper on the NZ Bus buses yet? At least it doesn't say so in the press release.

Waka Pacific, Go West and Northstar are all the same company.

Just like Urban Express and Pavlovich Coachlines.

On a side note, Tuihana cafe will accept it soon.

I had a look at the site and was also thinking about that.

From what I can see on the site there doesn't seem to be any mobile integration at all (not even an app for managing your card).

But hopefully they will head in that direction(and hopefully the technology is compatible)

Hopefully iphone 5 will support it and they will jump on the iphone bandwagon and build an android app as well.

cisconz: yes thats why I put Ritchies then north star etc the etc being the full NZ bus list.
Ritches is not part of NZ Bus.

This is a cafe I've just purchased in Mt Eden - we will be running Snapper shortly, once we sort out some of the technical issues.  We are the first non-franchised cafe in Auckland to put in Snapper (go us!)

Don't see the point, many other options out there. Not enough places supported, so will give it a miss.

Hmm, may try you for breakfast tomorrow... I presume you're somewhere near the Bank of Baroda, or the Asian Vege shop?

Also, keen for the Snapper Sprat, but may wait until the Snapper+ is released.

Same building as Bank of Baroda, just down from them.  Not open today, will probably open weekends from next week.

Free wireless? Count me in!

Back on topic - saw it, checked the website, saw it can't be used on buses and costs a bomb to purchase the thing in the first place, and you'll still need another one when the council gets off its chuff and sorts out the official integrated ticketing. Basically, the way I see it the launch is, to misuse a verb, a fail.

Lots of mention of launch events of some kind too, but no detail.
