It is connected to port 2, the ONT status light for port 2 is blinking green.

I suspect there may be a provisioning problem (but there is no information presented to support that other than it doesn't work). Below are some pictures that might help confirm what you already seem to know. In the first picture I have a type 400 ONT, with the connection as untagged PPPoE on port 1.

The data section shows that port 1 has negiotiated at 1Gbps full duplex (the cable is probably good on port 1).

Otherwise you might need to test using a PC (as indicated above) and/or packet level capture

Not if you're expecting PPPoE no - their RADIUS server won't be getting your details so won't be able to authenticate you

Yea mine also says: PPPoE Relay

What if you set your WAN connection to DHCP, and try with and without VLAN ID 10?

Without VLAN, there’s nothing there, with VLAN 10 is going to take a bit of work (VyOS, so I have to change the interface in several locations.

Anyone know a support email I can contact? I can only find a billing email and a scary looking “contact the LFC, but we’ll bill you $199.99 if there’s no fault” warning.

IMHO this is a Quic provisioning issue that @quic might be able to help with. Quic are looking to provide IPoE support (which would be good), and perhaps you have fallen into being an alpha customer for IPoE. I'd try DHCP and DHCP6 (and dump PPPoE) until you get new information.

Right, looks like it's all sussed out. Quic say that "DHCP Option 82" is an Enable thing (the South Island equivalent of Chorus) and from their end, provisioning is all good.

Odds are it was a misconfiguration on my part (thanks, arcane router configuration with less than stellar documentation!)

Hey @pc - I’ve removed your last post as you added your account number etc. This is not an official support forum.

But, in-case you haven’t noticed there is actually chat on the Quic website now. Why not give it a shot. I think you’ve run into the same IPv6 bug both I and another member had. Also ensure you’ve restarted your PPPoE session.

After the mess that 2degrees has made of the migtration of those of us with static IPs I'm ready to shift to Quic. After a bit of guidance first though.

1) I presume I will need to cancel my 2degrees connection first?

2) Should I wait until a cancellation date from 2degrees or just pick a date and accept an overlap in service? or

3) Should I just start the service now and pay for a month of 2degrees to guarantee an uptime and connection?

I've got a UDM Pro and have no issues configuring but want to make sure I'm doing the right things to reduce downtime.

1) you don't need to, it's probably better to cancel after scheduling the start date with Quic

2) just pick a date around the end of the current bill and after picking the start date with Quic advise that is the last date to 2degrees

3) not really needed, you can schedule the start date with Quic so set it to be the last day on the last bill for 2degrees

@Benoire assuming you’ve kept your connection as PPPoE on 2degrees also here’s what to do in order to have a zero fuss change over.

On sign up to Quic - in the comments mention “VLAN 10 Tagged Please” and purchase a static IP address (or don’t, I’m not your boss). You’ll get a connection time and basically at this time your connection will stop for a minute or so and re-establish without any issue on Quic. No need to change any settings but for the sake of being tidy best to just change the PPPoE user / pass once you’ve changed on your router.

If you pick ASAP for the time with Quic it’ll literally connect within hours (if done on a business day). Personally I’d recommend putting the date half way through your billing with 2degrees. Sure you lose a little, but you ever tried contacting them recently? I think you can survive with zero fuss and not having to talk to anyone for losing a few dollars 😊 - just flick them an email once you’ve moved to settle up your billing and claim any credits etc.

I wonder if I'm having the same problems others on this forum have had (which seemed to be a quic provisioning issue). @lucasnz I moved over a couple of weeks ago, and whilst it took a couple of hours for my static v6 subnet to be allocated, I did get a dynamic v6 after dropping the pppoe session a couple of times, assuming you've tried this?

I'm also running pfSense, and had to change nothing from my existing 2degrees config to get it working.

Fire me a DM with the name on your account and connnection address. :-)

You should also be able to hop into the portal to see if you have a static v6 allocated - it can take a couple days after connection but I can push it through. That being said, you should always be able to get a v6 address, just whether it's static or not, so may need to review config.
