Mine went down at the same time, got an email from Hetrix Tools saying my media server was offline. Was only for a few minutes though, would've never noticed otherwise

I messaged them and it was a DDoS attack.

As for the packet loss, I am currently testing a new setup they have and it seems much better. There's a link to the "test" instance in my signature.

Sure was! Biggest we've seen in a long time at over 6 million pps! Our mitigations picked up the attack and after fighting with inline protections for a few minutes (which is what you observed), realised the attack was too substantial and automatically blackholed the impacted IP(s) for a period of time .

As part of being open and also educating everyone, I'm quietly working internally in putting a blog post together on the evolving attacks we're seeing, and how we work to protect the network - so watch this space! 😊

As Sam has pointed out, he's kindly assisting us in testing out a new network setup which is going very well and helping this significantly. All testing is progressing well, and we've already started on moving customers to the new platform - woohoo!

Hello, Speed Demons! πŸš€ – Quic Broadband

Woohoo, welcome to the family @CYaBro! πŸ™Œ

You didn't waste any time picking up on our latest announcement that Hyperfibre is now available! πŸš€

Initially we're starting with the 2Gbps profile while we continue our testing and refining of the 4Gbps and higher profiles, which we'll launch thereafter.

If anyone is interested, please have a look through our latest post linked in @CYaBro's post!

Loving all your feedback everyone!

I will be looking forward to the blog post, always nice to read that sort of stuff.

Regarding the new setup, can I reach out to have my service moved over?

If you order before the 22nd and enter "ASAP" in the order form, you should be across in under 6 hours. πŸš€

You can also specify a specific date, and any time on the hour between 6am-9pm.

snowflake:

Signed up to Quic after reading through all the tests and discussion here and the other thread. Decided to cut ties with Slingshot (I joined stuff fibre) since they refused to offer any better pricing without locking me in for 12 months.

They said it would be connected at 6am today, and sure enough at exactly 6am today it was all systems go. Not sure whether as a new customer I'm on the "new network setup" from the get-go or not, but I'm excited to see how things work out. Only issue so far is no IPV6 working, but I'm fairly sure that's more of an issue with my router. I've only been connected for an hour and a half so haven't exactly spent that much time troubleshooting :D

Hopefully using your referral worked @ssamjh as a token of appreciation for all your testing and write-ups :)

Thank you ♥️

The amount of referrals I've had from the GZ community is really heart warming.
